It used to be that OT was the place when dialogue was jettisoned (from hoops and growls) to die.

People would take a football discussion into a different direction, and the entire thread would just be taken off the board and secretly sent to OT, where nobody knew to look. So, it wasn't like censorship but a silencing just the same.

Then, I honestly think it was when trump came along, and he enraged so many of us that we had to have a way to get that rage off our chests. And OT was truly born as a forum of its own!

People not only come looking here from the main sports pages, but hang out here regularly.

BI is not a major player in the overall social media arena. But I do find it interesting to note how people spend their time.

There's a lot to be desired of OT - sure!
Management is often looking for solutions to moderate it from ugliness.
But the size of the BI community seems just about right. Not too small, not too big.

Way to go, BI management!

Everyone knows where BI's elephant's graveyard has always been. That being the case….

Man, why you gotta rip on women's hoops?
At least they HAVE a page, unlike every other sport!!!

Because their fans lack humor. I watched every game my daughter played in from 2nd grade through high school and loved every minute of it. The retirement of my fandom coincided with her retirement from the sport (although she now plays in an SF co ed rec league).

My recollection is that when new owners came on board they asked that the political stuff be kept off Growls. In the spirit of community, I switched over.
