If RFK, Jr is seriously considering this, it shows that his campaign is a joke. Why choose someone with a little experience....say a Tulsi Gabbard.

As someone not terribly happy with the two mainstream choices, I'd want to hear more from RFK, Jr, butting Rogers or Ventura make it pretty darn close to a non-starter.
Ventura has actually been a governor. Rodgers is a football player who rambles about other stuff on Pat McAfee's show sometimes. There's already a big gulf between them.

Not that it really matters who RFK Jr. will choose as his running mate. He hasn't even gotten on the ballot in most states.
I'm thinking he wouldn't choose Jesse Ventura and announce it in Oakland. That would point towards Rodgers, though I'd prefer Ventura or someone else with more experience.

Well, if he were to choose Rodgers as VP, this would be the most typical of New York Jets outcomes.

Job share as Aaron works on Sunday. Teammates plus checks the POC box. I'm in with this ticket

RFK has a pretty low bar for who he can pick considering who the current VP is

Like a ticket headed by a narcissistic felon or a drooling fool with dementia is somehow serious

For the sake of Cal Football and the university I hope this is just a false rumor. Rodgers has already tainted his reputation with his crazy talk. Too bad he wants to diminish his legacy as one of the all-time great QBs with his BS conspiracy/political nonsense.

It's been 10 hours since The New York Times published its story.

If Rodgers wanted to refute it, he could. He has social media.

Unless he's in a cave somewhere with no internet.

It's been 27 hours. Rodgers could easily end this story on social media.

He liked a tweet posted yesterday morning. So he's been on social media in the last 36 hours.

Forbes:

The "private conversation" was reportedly with a reporter and others at the Kentucky Derby.

However, it was before Alex Jones' admitted under oath that he was just spreading lies for money and Sandy Hook was "100% real."

So at least you agree that it would be really vile and disqualifying to believe and spread Sandy Hook conspiracy theories, right? Hopefully Aaron did not.

This is a perfect example of why the public has such low trust in the media.
"Journalist here, 10 years ago Aaron told me something crazy in a private conversation. Thought I would write a story about today of all days."

Old news versus fake news versus suppressing the news? Assuming it is true, saying crazy and vile things to a reporter 10 years ago was less relevant and newsworthy when he was just the QB of the Green Bay Packers than it is if he were a candidate for the second highest office in the country.

Think about where Rodgers was at 11 years ago: He only won 1 Super Bowl and one MVP. He hadn't yet started dating Olivia Munn. He was a big name, but not as big as he would become.

So if you're a reporter, and Rodgers says this in a private conversation, what do you do? Do you report it, which would lead to other people not talking to you in private? It would be hard to turn that into a story then. Hell, Rodgers allegedly believing the government was behind 9/11 was barely a thing a few years ago.

A lot of sports stars have crackpot beliefs. Tom Brady. Pete Carroll.

But it does become newsworthy if you're potentially running to become VP.

I applaud your ability to come up with a single a plausible explanation to something that has many plausible explanations. I never said whether I thought the report was true or false, or mostly true, or partially true. I said things like this are why people don't trust reporters to give them accurate information. A large majority of people feel the same way. Is it true or not? If true, are those Rogers' current beliefs? Would it be important if true? Do I trust reporters to give me accurate information on this? I can answer the last one: no.

Ugh, I usually don't care about the personal opinions or private lives of celebrities but I have officially disowned him as a Cal fan. I don't care if no one else cares about my stance but I'm done with him, I can't do this anymore just because he was a great football player for us

At this point, best case scenario is that all this can be explained by CTE. Because the alternative is that he's a living example of the Dunning-Kruger effect in action.

I like this shift. "Sensible people" replacing "Moral people" is a good start. You are neither.

Four hours after Jake TApper's tweet, Rodgers liked a RFK tweet.

So he's on Twitter.

He's not in a cave.

Here's my prediction: Rodgers will blast the media for this story. But he won't deny saying it.

By bringing in Putin and Trump into this, don't you know you automatically lost?

What did he lose? Your respect and admiration? Well, that right there is what they call a crying shame. He may need counseling.
So, I don't know why this keep be brought up, actually I do, and it is because people glued to what "reporters say" are the least informed people. Trump is very pro vaccine, he made multiple speeches about this, and he still takes total "credit" for the vaccines. Trump is pro vaccine and has been since... the COVID vaccines were developed. Since many Trump supporters are anti-COVID vaccine, this is actually a weakness in his campaign in comparison to RFJ Jr. I know this hard. It has only been replayed 20x in past 4 years.

Short version: Trump has always been pro-Vaccines. Liberals somehow, over 4 straight years, think anti-Vaccine is associated with Trump.

How is it possible that Trump makes grand speeches constantly in favor of the mRNA Vaccines and he is at all associated with the anti-mRNA minority (which is mixed in political affiliation)? Liberals read the NY Times. End of story.
