I don't think that "mixed-race people don't know their own backgrounds" is going to be a winning argument for Republicans, but by all means they can continue using it if they want.

I don't think Donold is looking for a "winning" argument as in winning people over to his side so much as he's looking to rev up his base. They get excited when he attacks minorities.

He won in 2016 because his deplorables were more energized than Clinton voters (though demographics have shifted in the democrats favor since then). He lost in 2020 because the anti-Donold vote was more energized.

In 2024 we will see who is more energized. Vice President Harris has certainly pumped some energy onto the Democratic side. Donold is now trying to do the same for his side.
I think you give Trump way too much credit in saying that there is actual strategy behind his ranting.

The Democratic VP candidate will also be a DEI hire and will most likely be a white, heterosexual male.

Trump remarks on Harris' race echo his birtherism about Obama

https://www.axios.com/2024/08/01/trump-kamala-harris-black-birtherism

"Donald Trump's audacious lie about Vice President Kamala Harris' race confirmed what many had long suspected: running against a Black woman could summon the former president's worst impulses.

Why it matters: Amid outrage from Democrats and discomfort from Republicans, Trump is doubling down on his incendiary claim that Harris recently "became a Black person" for political convenience.
In one fell swoop, Trump hijacked a news cycle dominated by the enthusiasm surrounding Harris' campaign and redirected attention to his long and controversial record on race."

Unfortunately, people are mostly desensitized to it or watching the Olympics.
In the end, people shrug and vote for their parents' party. How else to explain the solid 40% that would follow Trump in a march down the Champs-Elysees so long as he carried a flag with a red elephant on it.

People vote for their parents' party? What the heck are you talking about? Not everyone is what you were.

I don't know any of this history you just referred to.

Wow. ChatGPT just explained to me how catholic king of England Scotland and Ireland James II had a Protestant daughter named Mary who married William from Netherlands and they invaded England in 1688 and boot her father James, who fled to France.

Meanwhile, in Virginia, college William and Mary was founded in 1693 and named after these two, who ever threw her father. Wow!

Research into political alignment and voter behavior shows that many American voters tend to support the same political party as their parents.

### **Key Findings**
- **Historical Trends**: Studies suggest that around 60-70% of American voters align with the party preferences of their parents. This pattern reflects the influence of family background on political orientation.
- **Influence of Family**: Family discussions, values, and cultural influences play a significant role in shaping political preferences and party loyalty across generations.
- **Generational Change**: While family influence is strong, there is also evidence of generational shifts and increasing political diversity among younger voters.

### **Sources for Further Information**
- **Pew Research Center**: Provides data and analyses on political affiliation and voter behavior.
- **American National Election Studies (ANES)**: Offers comprehensive data on voter behavior and political attitudes.

These findings underscore the importance of family background in political socialization, though individual choices and broader social changes also contribute to shifts in party affiliation.

I guess I overstated it from 30-35% to 40%. My bad.

White dudes for Trump are a bit more shy and prefer more coverage with a sharper point when it comes to head accessory.

White dudes for Harris is stupid but if would have been more idiotic if a presidential candidate himself focused on the race of the opponent as the only point of attack.

Yes, saying, "In the end, people shrug and vote for their parents' party," is not correct when only 60% or so actually do, considering there are only two major parties to choose from.

Evangelicals only make up like 14% of the republican voting base. However of all evangelicals in the US they vote 79% Republican and 16% Democrat. My guess is Rob Smith doesn't concern himself with how a small minority of voters in the republican party feel.

Obama, like Kamala, is not an American Descendant of Slavery who lived an early life culturally unlike the vast majority of African Americans. There seems to be a giant elephant in the room that Democrats refuse to even ackowledge.
