The schools have to treat bomb threats as if they were deadly serious, so whether or not it's a hoax makes no difference. Probably 99% of the bomb threats are hoaxes.

We had one at my high school, but I think one of my classmates was trying to get our history exam postponed. It didn't work but it did shorten the amount of time we had.

That was eventually resolved with a Dominican revolution and war for independence, resulting in the current split. (It's not only white people who do colonization and wars of conquest.)

My only contribution to this discussion is the empty shuttle bus in the DR between our walled resort and the airport. We chatted with the shuttle driver. I commented on the hard work in the sugar fields we were passing. The shuttle driver said "oh, Haitians do that work".

My partner witnessed something odd in our resort there. She witnessed a shift change, and as the maids and help exited the main guest area and walked down a path, there appeared to be a small gauntlet of men on either side watching them closely. Nobody was talking.

It appeared as if most staff were Dominican, some chefs were American and from elsewhere - first professional jobs.

This was a pretty average to midrange property, but most of the staff had beautiful dental work, and many newer staff had braces. Interesting strategy.

At the airport, there was a small mob of cab drivers trying to get fares. I would have liked to go to the local city / village.

Well, we've got one instance (posted above) of some woman filing a police report about her cat being stolen by Haitians, and when they investigated they found the cat alive in her basement. My guess is that any other investigations wound up like that, meaning: no credible evidence. People just saying stuff (especially if there have been internet rumors ginning up the issue) is not evidence.

I guess logic would deduce the disappearance of non-migrating ducks and geese were... ???
