Please point out anything Antifa has done in 2024. As far as I can tell, they are pretty much dormant these days.tequila4kapp said:

Portland's biggest offenders in this general space is Antifa. TBD who did it but it wouldn't surprise me if it was them.

Of course it is always a coincidence that voter fraud arrests are typically rebuplicons.tequila4kapp said:

It appears you need to expand the scope of your news sources.calpoly said:Of course it is always a coincidence that voter fraud arrests are typically rebuplicons.tequila4kapp said:

Per this source, some 1500 confirmed cases of voter fraud have occurred since @2000. It is irrational to think they "typically" only occur on 1 side.SBGold said:He's right thoughtequila4kapp said:It appears you need to expand the scope of your news sources.calpoly said:Of course it is always a coincidence that voter fraud arrests are typically rebuplicons.tequila4kapp said:

Anyone who think only 1 side welcomes and protects unethical and illegal behavior is either not paying attention or too hyper partisan to admit it.chazzed said:
It is not irrational for people who are able to see patterns. Today's GOP welcomes and protects unethical and even criminal behavior (hello, 45). You're smarter than this, but you've been lost to political partisanship.

You (speaking to tequila) saying "both sides" and "what about" (name any number of diversionary tactics, Hilary email, Hunter's laptop, Hunter drugs, Hunter barisma, etc) has nothing to do with the massive deficiencies of Trump, the massive departure from the party's prior policy positions , but it's been a successful game of deception nonetheless.

We do not have a huge Muslim population here; not impossible but the odds are statistically low for that one.

I have commented on this boardThe Republican party disgusts me; that collectively they are spineless weasels only interested in power.

Yeah. I'm going to second this.
As I've said many times, I have a lot of people in this category in my family. And I've had a lot of time over 8 years of this crap to observe and ponder how it all works in the human mind.
Robert Sapolsky, us vs them thinking.
And I also revisited with a friend a good film about Stanley Milgram
Here's a new one for your entertainment and consideration:
Watch it and then read this: trump is a clown, a con artist seeking not to deliver policy solutions for the people of this country but simply to see how far he can convince everyone to obey him. It's a game for his ego indulgence. He uses lots of tactics, including:
Threats
Embarrassment
Suggestion or direct orders
He has, AMAZINGLY, taken over the ("so called") conservative party and had it abandon its prior policy stances.

One never could understand how an entire nation could be mobilized to execute a thing such as the Holocaust. But we've actually been treated to watch it happen to ourselves.
It's been a pitifully grand social experiment.
Watch the film, Experimenter, the trailer of which is at the top. I've been posting it here for years, not sure anyone has ever come back and said, "yeah, I took you up on that, and here are my reactions".
Oh well. Like I say, we're doomed. I can't convince my own family. The ties of identity and belonging are strong. Yet, once you watch Milgram's experiments in action, it becomes somewhat obvious.
Stanford Prison Study should also be mentioned here. We are a fascinating species.

Do you have any political position that actually runs counter your mainstream political group that dominates US politics today?
Do you consider yourself immune to the kind of groupthink identified by Asch, Milgram et al?
