How Smart is Kamala Harris?

I believe Donald Trump and many others were mistaken when they said Kamala Harris is "stupid", or "not smart." This woman is not stupid. Not stupid at all.

I believe she is very intelligent. I first came to see this when I watched her as a United States Senator, during Senate hearings on TV. In these hearings she successfully used her prosecutorial courtroom skills to thoroughly interrogate witnesses to make her points.

I wondered why this same woman as Joe Biden's Vice President, changed her public persona like a chameleon changes its skin color, and made some of the most nave, ridiculous statements. Some in the press called them "word salads". She made statements that were non-sequiturs, such as when asked, "Ms Harris, have you been to the border?", she answered, "I haven't been to Europe either". She dodged that question by deflecting it.

Kamala Harris has run a stealth campaign. The American citizens deserve to know what her plan is for the country and for them, but she has successfully avoided answering all the tough questions about her record, her plans, and her views, by only having one debate, which, like nearly all the previous Presidential debates, was managed by Democrats, so Republican opponents are always at a two to one disadvantage. Donald Trump had to face two opponents, the Democrat moderator and the Democrat Kamala Harris. She probably slightly won that debate, because she got Trump a bit flustered. It is tough for a man to debate a woman, one on one, let alone one against two opponents. A friend of mine once said, "Any woman worth her salt should be able, with only a few words, to render any man impotent in about a minute." And in that debate, Kamala had help.

In the campaign, Kamala covered up all her weaknesses and all her plans for you and I, simply by not meeting with reporters from the other political side, or not doing town hall meetings in hostile parts of the country, or even visiting them. In short, we know very little about this woman, except what she and her party want us to know. I think her campaign has been dishonest in this way, much more so than any previous campaign I can think of. I'm sure it was orchestrated this way, but she played her part well.

She has never answered the tough questions. She has been in office for 4 years. Did she or did she not agree on the decision to open the southern border? A decision that I believe was treason, because it could overload our welfare system and wreck the United States, forcing us into chaos and would really strain the economy and the citizens. If she did not agree with it, then did she make her feelings known to Joe Biden or Pelosi or Schumer, or any of the king makers on her side of the aisle? If not, then she is as guilty as any of them who made this diabolical decision to open the southern border for an invasion of the unvetted. Remember the Trojan Horse? Except this time it is not enemy soldiers inside a fake horse, it is a number of bad guys intending harm hidden within a huge mob of desperate foreigners.

I don't think Kamala disagreed with the Administration decision to throw open the border, and she does not say. This is a smart woman, but full of deceit and guile, in my opinion. The Democrats and Pelosi, by forcing Biden to drop out of the campaign, then arbitrarily choosing Harris as the candidate, negating his 14 million votes, picking a candidate with no primary, no votes from the Democrat voters. And then running a stealth campaign for President, hiding who Kamala Harris really is. Don't the Democrat voters deserve to choose their own candidate? Joe Biden was sadly not fit for office when he was sworn in as President. Why did the Democrats wait until it was too late to have a primary, to boot him off the ticket, and give us their hand-picked candidate? And then run a campaign where she was mostly shielded from the tough questions and the tough audiences?

And they call the Republicans authoritarians?

Kamala is smart, but she is mostly or only skilled in interrogation. She is developing some political skills, but is a neophyte in answering questions from tough reporters. I don't see any negotiating skills whatever. Can you imagine her negotiating with Xi or Putin,or the mullahs of Iran? These are men who have little respect for women. Every one of them would clean her clock in a negotiation, while they are all very wary of Trump. You vote for Kamala at your own peril, and unfortunately at the peril of the entire nation.

Presidents don't do the heavy lifting in negotiating treaties. Diplomats do that. Presidents show up, maybe discuss a wrinkle or two, smile for the cameras and sign the documents.

I will allow that Trump had a heavier hand in negotiations than most presidents, but he often gave away the store due to his ego, narcissism and general unpreparedness.

Chameleon is one way to describe Kamala, another word is fake. She was one of the original anti-vaxxers along with her boss who was in charge of DEI.

Stealth campaign? She had done rallies, interviews, podcasts, SNL, ads. I don't get it, are you in a cave?

Former Bernie Bros. Matt Taibbi and Yogi (his current whack a mole handle is "Democratic Onions" also formerly known as Genocide Joe, Palestinian Chicken, etc.) will tell you that Kamala Harris will govern from Right Center, and that is why they hate her so much, as well as all Moderates. It is also why they are allies of tRumpists this election cycle. They want tRump to utterly destroy Moderate Democrats so that in the next election the Far Left Democrats will take over the party.

This helps to explain how Matt and Yogi view things:

"The next little thing about this vote-for-the-lesser-evil trick, of course, and this is no secret to anyone anymore, is that it drives all the "serious" candidates toward what is commonly referred to as the "moderate center," even if these serious candidates aren't, in fact, moderate or centrist in any meaningful sense and the so-called center moves further to the right with each election cycle. For nearly two decades now this process has been steadily advancing on the Democratic side, as liberals are trained to accept the idea that the national majority will never accept a true labor party, or any candidate perceived as "soft" on defense."
-Matt Taibbi

*BTW, in Matt Taibbi and Yogi's world, I am a Republican. In tRump's I'm a Far Left Radical Marxist. I probably took 15 depositions in my career of business frauds like tRump. They make guys like him with a mould at the factory. The minute they have their depositions taken, their case is finished. The few times they are dumb enough to go to trial and take the witness stand, the jury lights them up with substantial punitive damages awards.

In criminal cases they can never testify on their own behalf because they end up proving the case for The People and basically convicting themselves.

I am really getting a sense that the tRump Era is over. I will be impressed, however, if he has enough foreign actor backing to board 85M+ alleged votes. Between Musk and Putin, I cannot discount that possibility.

Most likely tRump will die by his own sword because:

1. His SCOTUS tossed Roe v. Wade and really p@issed off women; and

2. He overplayed his hand making fun of how senile Joe Biden is.

Kamala Harris is a terrible candidate.

You don't have to convince me of that.

There were much better options had we actually been able to vote for them.

However, we absolutely cannot let Donald Trump back into the White House.

I don't see how half of our country doesn't understand that.

This isn't about partisanship or the economy or the border or any of that nonsense.

Donald Trump is an existential threat to the United States of America

The problem is, a fair percentage of Trump voters either...

a) don't know what an "existential threat to the United States of America" is, or don't understand why that is... and/or...
b) want to send a big "screw you" to every fancy intellectual liberal who uses words like "existential" (also "cisgender")

One of the strongest cases against Trump is giving more power and voice to people who would vote for Trump.

These people do not seem to able assess character or truth; do not seem to be able to understand context or nuance; think in binary and tribal terms; delight in revenge and bullying; would rather spite themselves than see others succeed; and are gullible and easily duped. In short, you can't make a country great denigrating actual greatness and empowering those who are not great or incapable of recognizing greatness.

The fall of civilizations and the worst regimes always rely on these people and are always able to convince them that though they represent the most base human instincts, they are enlightened, patriotic, and moral.

The man was impeached twice.

That alone would have been disqualifying in any era but this one.

And a man with the character to be president would have accepted he had his time in office, accomplished things for the right, and moved on instead of spending the next four years whining about it and running for office again at 80.

I can't listen to another four years of this ****er.

It is obvious that Presidents don't do all the heavy lifting in negotiating treaties. There is usually or always a team, and includes the President, or someone who will strongly represent the President's views and things he wants accomplished. Do you think Reagan did no negotiating in all the hours he spent with Gorbachev? Or FDR or Churchill when they negotiated with Stalin? Do you think Trump did no negotiating with Xi or the Rocket Man? Trump's negotiating teams included people like Mike Pompeo, Ric Grennell, and Jared Kushner. There were times when Trump had them negotiate treaties, but there are other cases where Trump had a bigger role, with more of his personal contact with the opponent. Serbia and Kosovo didn't name the lake on their border, "Lake Grenell", for the man who negotiated the peace deal between them. They named it "Lake Trump". The boss gets the credit, whether it is deserved or not. BTW, the deal has fallen apart, because Biden, in his personal war against anything Trump, decided to no longer support the deal, and now friction exists again between Serbia and Kosovo.

I'll say it again this way: Kamala did all you said, BUT SHE DID IT ALL IN FRIENDLY PLACES WITH FRIENDLY PEOPLE WHO ALREADY LIKED HER, OR EVEN LOVED HER.

Kamala did her interviews with journalists and networks who already supported her, and with people like Oprah, who loves Kamala. Did she ever go into politically hostile areas for town halls or rallies? She went on only one TV channel not favorable to her, Fox News, which did not support Donald Trump, with Fox's most moderate and fair interviewer (IMO), Bret Baier. She did not even let Joe Rogan have an interview.

On the other side, Trump went into near hostile areas in NYC give rallies and to meet the voters in diners, even worked at MacDonalds to mix with the regular folks. He may be the "existential threat" that some are saying, but he is in his element mixing with these folks of all kinds under any circumstances, and sometimes doing it with shoddy Secret Service Protection. He doesn't dodge the tough questions, he welcomes the chance to answer them.

I think I did not say any such thing.

Look, Kamala Harris is not Margaret Thatcher. Not even close.

In the past, I have voted for Dianne Feinstein, for Mayor, and for Senator

I have voted for Sarah Palin, as part of the McCain-Palin Presidential Ticket, although I would rather have had her at the top of the ticket.

I don't think Nikki Haley is trustworthy, and I would not vote for her.

Here are some other women which immediately come to mind that I would vote for:

Joan of Arc, France
Margaret Thatcher, UK
Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar
Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan
Margaret Chase Smith
Condolezza Rice
Pamela Geller
Michele Bachmann
Kristi Noem
Elise Stefanik
Monica De La Cruz
Anna Paulina Luna

By the way, the mullahs and Xi and Putin will find a newfound respect for women once they control the US nuclear arsenal.

Did you really just say you don't believe a woman of any political persuasion can be an effective President? I think you did.

Or would you change your mind if it was Nimarata Haley?
Democrats are reading impaired. He said this woman would get her clock cleaned. You have can little respect for women and still have a tough time negotiating with them, but Democrats are too stupid to understand nuance.

There was no nuance from City, it was misogynistic AF

This is a vicious arena, when I compliment a candidate, and I am called a misogynist. Why is it that so many Leftists refuse to discuss or debate an issue, but only attempt to assassinate the character of the person who made a statement with which you do not agree? Take a lesson from Bernie Sanders. I think he is Stalinist, a Communist, but he will politely discuss and debate anyone, anywhere, any time, and he has been doing it for a living for many, many years. If you continue to be so passionately biased, you will not go very far in society, young man.

Wow - one whole interview, when she arrived late thereby limiting the interaction to about 20 minutes? And then her aides abruptly cut off the interview because she was failing?

https://nypost.com/2024/10/17/us-news/heres-when-kamala-harris-aides-ended-fox-news-interview/

I hope she was ok and had a safe space to retreat to. She dodged every other tough venue. Dodging Rogan may have cost her the election.

If she can't deal with those situations, how can she deal with Putin, XI, or Kim Jong Un? They would eat her alive.

The dems strategy was to hide Biden in 2020 and Kamala in 2024. It wasn't a bad strategy because Trump is so unlikable to many swing voters and he often shoots himself in the foot. But it is incredibly cynical when a candidate refuses to engage or even explain their positions in a wide variety of venues. It was disrespectful to voters and it worked against her, particularly after Biden hid his mental decline and the voters felt lied to by her and others.

I'm glad you think Kamala is great. I hope you support her running again in 2028.

This is so unquestionably true its pretty funny anyone could dispute it. Trump's narcissism won't permit him to avoid a camera.

But he is a good retail politician (McDonalds and Garbage truck stunts) and seems comfortable meeting people in all settings. The Rogan interview was a perfect example. It was a stark contrast with Kamala.

When has Bret Baier ever acted toxic when doing an interview? He is fair, honest, and polite when I have watched his interviews in the past.

It is a good thing that Kamala did not do an interview with that "other channel", Newsmax. They might have had Michael Savage, a frequent guest, interview Kamala. Would have loved to see that one on one.
