Apparently, Trump doesn't believe his own Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who said in a recent interview that there is an annual audit for Fort Knox.
"I'm actually going on this one. All my life I've heard about Fort Knox. That's where the gold is kept," Trump told Republican governors at a reception in Washington.
"We're getting a little bit shaky. We're getting the yips on this stuff. Like I want to find out," Trump said. "We're going to open up the doors. I'm going to see if we have gold there. Did anybody steal the gold in Fort Knox?"

This is the vision he's had since he was a kid. He wants to see it for himself!

thanks DW, very impressive pic. does the lake / peak have names? signed, >100 sq foot poster of washington state's Mount Shuksan dominating our dining room.

He's hoping that there is little gold at Fort Knox, so that chaos can emerge, and he can profit financially and politically out of the chaos.

His supporters can't be bothered by facts, of course.

"The Washington Post has devolved into the radical left's own Pravda. It should come as no surprise that they jump to toe the line and are quick to defend apparent cronyism instead of actually doing the work to investigate on behalf of the American public. It's no wonder their failing newspaper is hemorrhaging readers. The Trump Administration, however, is committed to accountability and transparency for the American people. "
How disgraceful are GOP politicians these days? They all bend the knee for a tool who is using taxpayer dollars to produce a free commercial to the richest man on the planet in front of the White House.

Trump was shilling for Musk / making a mockery of the office all day.
Trump is STILL - RIGHT NOW - tweeting about Tesla. He's spent more time protecting the richest man in the world's profits than he has protecting healthcare, education, jobs, or veterans in the last 6 weeks as president.

I wonder if the Trump supporters here have any problem with this?
Until recently, a page on the Defense Department's website celebrated Pfc. Ira Hayes, a Pima Indian who was one of the six Marines photographed hoisting a U.S. flag on Iwo Jima in 1945, as an emblem of the "contributions and sacrifices Native Americans have made to the United States, not just in the military, but in all walks of life."
But the page, along with many others about Native American and other minority service members, has now been erased amid the Trump administration's wide-ranging crackdown on what it says are "diversity, equity and inclusion" efforts in the federal government, a review by The Washington Post found.
Multiple articles about the Navajo code talkers, who were critical to America's victory at Iwo Jima and the wider Pacific theater of the Second World War, were also removed, along with a profile of a Tonawanda Seneca officer who drafted the terms of the Confederacy's surrender at Appomattox toward the end of the Civil War.
Johnny Cash performed a song to honor the memory of Ira Hayes:
"There they battled up Iwo Jima hill Two hundred and fifty men But only twenty-seven lived To walk back down again And when the fight was over And Old Glory raised Among the men who held it high Was the Indian, Ira Hayes
Call him drunken Ira Hayes He won't answer anymore Not the whiskey drinking Indian Or the marine that went to war
Ira Hayes returned a hero Celebrated through the land He was wined and speeched and honored Everybody shook his hand But he was just a Pima Indian No water, no home, no chance At home nobody cared what Ira'd done And when did the Indians dance Call him drunken Ira Hayes He won't answer anymore Not the whiskey drinking Indian Or the marine that went to war
Then Ira started drinking hard Jail was often his home They let him raise the flag and lower it Like you'd throw a dog a bone He died drunk early one morning Alone in the land he fought to save Two inches of water and a lonely ditch Was a grave for Ira Hayes"
*…and now Trump is completing the circle by throwing the memory of Ira Hayes' like garbage.

Jeb Bush said he'd be a chaos president. He was absolutely right!!!
Regarding recent tariff news: even cars built in America come equipped with foreign-made parts and components that constitute 40% to 50% of their value.
"A U.S. car with all U.S. parts made in the U.S. is a fictional tale not even possible today," he added.
President dipstick and his minion idiots have NO idea what they hell they are doing! The global supply chain took many decades to develop. He is going to have zero impact on re-shoring in 4 years. All he's going to do is stunt economic activity for 4 years.
You're supposed to work WITH industry, not against it. What an utter fool.
The next president who comes in is going to streamline and usher in new open trade, and a rush of economic activity will happen. He will be heroic, like FDR bringing us out of recession.
Here's a story where Trump is bragging about how he strong armed TSMC.
It will be interesting, after Trump dies, people for many years are going to be answering questions about their dealing with Trump, correcting the historical record. Trump is going to look for bad after historians get ahold of him, and this era.
tmsc?? as happens lots, this fool had to google it.. > Semiconductor foundry company headquartered in Taiwan Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited is a Taiwanese multinational semiconductor contract manufacturing and design company. It is the world's most valuable semiconductor company, the world's largest dedicated independent semiconductor foundry, and Taiwan's largest company, with headquarters and main operations located in the Hsinchu Science Park in Hsinchu, Taiwan

Perhaps this will be educational. There are many TSMC videos that will get you up to speed.
It is important to understand this company. They are the most important chip company in the world, as I understand it. But more importantly, it's crucial to understanding China-Taiwan-US politics.
China wants Taiwan, not just because of their historical relationship (and there are videos on that past) but also to control TSMC production.
But US and rest of world relies on TSMC chips and Taiwan is aligned with USA politically, militarily. We've made a commitment to defend Taiwan from invasion.
So, it's tense.
USA would be protected if it can get TSMC to build in USA, and Biden cut a deal to build in Phoenix - but as insurance against invasion (and having USA no longer defend against invasion) Taiwan won't build the most advanced chips in Arizona.
It's actually a very interesting dance by all parties.
I think the solution is for humans to learn to get along, to support one another's sovereignty and to engage in free trade and stop spending wasteful money on military. In this vain, the whole America First slogan is stupid. If all countries take this view, then we are collectively economically weakened, not just for the wasted money spent on military but from the inefficiencies of trade barriers.
I think you'll enjoy watching if you do searches on 3, 4, 5 nanometer chip manufacturing and the global chips race (and history of how we got there from the recent nearby advent of "Silicon Valley").
Then research Quantum Computing, which will blow away 2 or 1 nanometer chips, which don't yet exist, for certain applications.
Similarly intriguing is new tech re energy production and storage.
Think about the world your grandparents were born into. Now think about how the world will be when your grandchildren depart at 100 years old. It's incredible how much civilization is changing so quickly.
Fighting over a few factories here or there is stupid. Mankind has bigger fish to fry.
