Dude is a warped murderer.
But you're going to lump all who disagree with what Musk is doing to government with a murderer?

You disappoint me.

Here are some things for you to think about, and the summary is that Musk has no idea what he's doing. And further, Trump doesn't care. They are merely going to harvest their special interests out of the rubble.

These are from 6 years ago.
You'll learn about what was F'd up after it's F'd up. And then I suppose you'll blame liberals.

It is adorable that you actually believe this. You and objectivity are oil and water.
It's true though, I have never bought one and I have bought plug in hybrids. My next one is likely a Rivian, about 100X better build quality.

I did NOT lump all who disagree with Trump as murders. I am saying there's a nexus between those who think it's acceptable to vandalize a private citizen's Tesla because of what Musk does with DOGE to Luigi thinking he's justified in killing an insurance executive.

This idea that violence against political opponents is acceptable is a byproduct of calling all political opponents things like dictators, fascists, threats to Democracy, etc. The rhetoric is so outlandish. Ideas become thoughts, thoughts become actions. Mainstream Ds that engage in this rhetoric are enablers to less stable people who take it the next step.

Bumped into a protest yesterday at 4 th street Berkeley Tesla. Kind of funny that the preening halo seeking Tesla owners are now villains in their own morality play

At first, we loved it," said Susan Helmrich of Berkeley, who purchased a white Tesla Model 3 in 2021. "It has a lot of amazing features. Everything about it was great until about a year ago when Elon Musk came more into the public domain. At that point, I couldn't stand driving it, particularly when Musk and Trump became partners. I couldn't stand having anything to do with the Trump administration. Helmrich attached a small "regret magnet" on her Tesla that read: "I bought this before I knew how awful he was." She later attached a larger one. "

Full disclosure: I largely agree with BearGoggles' posts on this thread and would consider owning a Tesla Model Y.

That said, my truth is my truth...

In past years, a Tesla would pull up next to me at a red light and the driver would glance over with a look that seemed to say, "I've always been richer than you, but now I'm greener, too!" And I was driving a damn Prius!

The last six months or so, they don't seem to glance over and, maybe it's my imagination but they seem to be slinking down in their seats a bit. Pretty sure I spotted a guy in my community wearing one of those fake glasses/nose/mustache dealies.

You conflate so many things in your mind, it is clearly difficult for you to organize your thoughts.

Strangely, you don't realize there's a difference between: (i) what a company does and how it treats its customers; and (ii) what its executives/employees do outside of the company.

Budweiser was "punished" because it was perceived to have disrespected its customer base - their add executive was specifically quoted as disrespecting its existing customer base. She disparaged the customers as "fratty" and "out of touch" and sought to move the brand to "inclusivity." She politicized the brand. Again - this is Bud Light whose target customers are mostly sports fans and college kids. LOL.

You and others want to punish Tesla (ironically, a green company) because of the activities of the owner separate from the business.
I really appreciate your contributions to this board. Thank you.

I don't.

MAGA is crap.
I'm surprised the stock market hasn't already take a dump all over his face. The stock market doesn't like uncertainty. Trump IS uncertainty.

Mark my words.
And then when he's a failure, BG will be hanging on to his culture war crusade by a thread.

The irony of your post is that I'm advocating against a culture war and you are advocating for it. People engaged in a culture war seek to punish their political opponents via boycotts (or even political violence).

I bought a Tesla (an early production model 3) at a time when Musk was objectively a man of the left. I purchase/watch movies, music, and all manner of other products from people who are very progressive, if not far left. I pay for subscriptions to news sources that are left (NY Times, LA Times, Glenn Greenwald among others).

I don't seek to de-platform or demonetize views I disagree with, even when they are outside the mainstream. I believe that free speech is the best disinfectant.

Who was the guy who used the phrase " virtue signaling"?

Who are Tesla owners- I suspect largely California democrats who are making a virtuous statement about their " commitment" to the environment and technology. And then the car spends most time plugged in the driveway and driven sparingly. But now they face the reverse mojo Nazi label when they just wanted to save the world. Next time buy a $ucking bike.

The interesting thing is that Musk doesn't care that sales and leases are plummeting not only here but worldwide because of his politics.

It is indeed interesting.
But he's an odd bird. A psychological case study unique in human history.

China is kicking his tail in ev sales. We may see tesla cars fail.
He's still got SpaceX and nobody else has Starlink, yet.

You know, Elon is very reckless. He makes all kind of wild statements that are not true. We've never seen anyone like him. Not among successful businessmen anyways.

I have predicted here that he's going to crack up before he ages gracefully, but that's a different matter altogether.

He's a 14 year old at the seat of power.

Trump has handled this beautifully. Musk is getting all the crap, his car business is being decimated and he has replaced Trump as number one villain. . Eventually he'll no longer be useful or screw up big time and Trump will dump and blame him.

Unfortunately, the tallest, most athletic, best looking, smoothest tongue, best dressed etc etc sways the hearts and minds of far too many.

Logic doesn't win out - we have seen.

2) you need to be corrected.
Saying I'll never buy a Tesla (or others who say the same) is not Jan 6 level violence. Do not equate them.

Quote:

People engaged in a culture war seek to punish their political opponents via boycotts (or even political violence).

I vote with my vote, my voice and my dollar. Do you have a problem with that?
Thanks to the First Amendment, you have the right to vote with your dollar. Just like I have the right to say your position, as applied to Tesla and Musk, is shortsighted, divisive, petty, intolerant, destructive and bad for the country - and to call you out for engaging in the exact political/culture war you accuse others of waging.

See how that works? It's a free country, at least until the far left get their way and restrict free speech (See Germany).

I take a nice, wet, gooey poop on your post. Then I pee all over your profile page.
Check mate.

You can feel that way. I'm just so very tired of MAGA logic. It's endless nonsense. I'm sure you have some valid points though.
You get lumped in with all the others, just like I get lumped in with antifa disturbances in Portland. That's the problem with this forum. That's also the problem with a 2 party political system.
