I have to admit, I have always thought Rob Schneider is funny. Big Stan has lots of laughs, especially compared to Will Ferrell's movie, Get Hard, which ripped it off.

Seems like a non event with a half empty Zellerbach Hall all outsiders and a lot of non violent student protesters outside. I did hear a guy on the news say furry elements were there, so clearly things are escalating, lol.

Honestly, I dont know why UC allows these unwanted outsiders on campus.

Half empty?? Are you kidding? Zellerbach was packed with 2,200 people. The event was sold out.

According to the LA Times about 900 attended which would mean Zellerbach was half empty

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2025-11-11/berkeley-tpusa-protest-clashes-doj-investigating

The LA Times is just wrong. I've seen video of the inside of the auditorium, and it was packed.

Do you have video of the upper deck that was possibly empty?

Yes, I have also seen video of the upper deck, and it was far from empty. Why are you so insistent on trying to downplay the attendance?

It is true that some people were physically prevented from attending by the antifa thugs outside the venue. The university and Berkeley police did a poor job of clearing the thugs aside so that people with tickets could access the entrance.

The question is why are you so insistent on playing up the attendance despite what has been reported by media and the University?

The right is always worried about crowd size....look at their leader!

Trump is making his move on Cal:

BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- The US Department of Justice is looking into what happened at UC Berkeley Monday night, following the protests that broke out in response to the Turning Point USA event.

https://abc7news.com/post/assistant-attorney-general-harmeet-dhillon-visiting-uc-berkeley-amid-turning-point-usa-tour-protest-investigation/18152094/

……and the Photocopy Guy is suing Cal.

The Trump administration cannot immediately cut federal funding to the University of California or issue fines against the school system over claims it allows antisemitism and other forms of discrimination, a federal judge ruled late Friday in a sharply worded decision.

2 hour video of the event.

Starts out with a Turning Point person being GLAD for the ruckus outside because it creates news about their organization.

Then a white man singing the national anthem with the flag behind.

Then a "comedian" saying he used to do a bunch of gay and trans jokes, cheering for Nancy Pelosi retirement, then saying a joke about how a black person cant go inside a store - because they don't accept EBT.
Also, the Bay Area needs to be "saved".
Also, he aims to reclaim the phrase "that's gay".

This is not funny. Though some cheer his bit, I can feel others cringe.

https://www.youtube.com/live/D5bNZ9pt3Ds

The next guy says any who stop their show (violating their free speech) will be escorted out by security staff.

Then 10 minutes of pause and video of Charlie and turning point org stuff. Recruiting, hiring.

Oh, wait, looks likes there's been some monkeying with the video of this event.
There's unnatural intersplicing of video. The prepared marketing bit was then cut by a religious speaker. Then cut back to the marketing. Then cut to a guy on stage explaining their Re-Fi program for financially distressed students.
"Invest y refi"

I find this interesting:
God
Money
Jokes
White, straight supremacy
Righteousness

Okay, turns out that we've gone back to the beginning of the event. National Anthem again.

Scrolling through, I see the religious guy again, then Rob Schneider, then the religious guy again, then Schneider, then audience Q&A to end. ("Frank Turek" * is the "religious guy".)

I guess that's what they are recruiting for first - A.V. department.

* Wikipedia: Frank Turek (born November 20, 1961) is an American Christian apologist and author. He is best known as the founder and president of Christian apologetics ministry CrossExamined.org.

Rob Schneider 5'3", age 62
Charlie Kirk 6'5", age 31

From some catholic website:

In 2023, actor and comedian Rob Schneider celebrated his first Christmas as a Catholic.

"I think the reason the Catholic Church works for me is it's closest to the actual words of Jesus Christ," the 60-year-old told the Our Sunday Visitor newspaper from Arizona. (Both the Our Sunday Visitor newspaper and the OSV News wire service are owned by the OSV publishing company.)

Schneider spoke about his newfound faith after revealing that he converted to Catholicism in a social media post on Oct. 31. The actor rose to fame as a cast member and writer for NBC's "Saturday Night Live," and is perhaps best known for starring in films including "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" in 1999, "The Hot Chick" in 2002, and "The Benchwarmers" in 2006.

He chatted with Our Sunday Visitor after also starring in a new children's series called "Chip Chilla" and while working on a project about the Shroud of Turin, believed to be Jesus Christ's burial cloth.

Many things, Schneider said, led to his conversion, in particular, his family priest in Phoenix taking him to see Father Chad Ripperger, whom he called "an amazing priest."

"We got to hear him speak for two hours and it was really powerful," Schneider said of the theologian and exorcist based in Colorado. He called Father Ripperger's words reassuring.

"At the same time, it was 'prepare yourself and be vigilant, but not fearful,'" he remembered. "His message at the end was, 'Jesus already won. This is just a mop up mission' and I love that. I think it's true."

Turek is interspliced in the middle of Schneider speaking and he praises the security at the event where Charlie was killed, blaming "somebody else" who was supposedly responsible for the rooftops, but "they blew it! It was Butler P A all over again."

Do they pay people to sit thru this or at least provide coffee? I can only imagine the "game day experience" posts for this. "I preferred the 1st anthem to the second and why no Hail Mary's?"

I temporarily got involved in Campus Crusade for Christ while in college, and attended an event in Ari reside where they tried to deepen people's involvement. Maybe a thousand students from all over California. 500 more likely.

I was at a round table and they gave us all an exercise to answer questions. People were shy to speak up and contribute so I found myself leading the group, drawing out responses.

An older man observing stopped and told me I'd make a great organizer and leader for Christ.

I later thought, wow, this is recruitment!
For THEIR cause and THEIR beliefs.

I see, therefore, what turning point is angling toward.

I'm now at the start of the Q&A session and I would like to say one very positive thing about Schneider.

He said that the Love is the only way to respond. He told how Robert Deniro challenged him and rather than responding in kind he said "I love you".
True. Violence begets violence. Unless Love prevails.

….But, wow, as I type this, he insults-back the first questioner who insulted him.

Okay, the Q&A is ending.
My concluding review:

This event is a big nothingburger.
These speakers are weak, and the format is as well.

Glad I didn't go, not that I would have.

Campus Crusade for Christ had a big headquarters in the San Bernardino mountains near where I grew up. The family across the street was involved with them. Their kids told my Jewish neighbor's kids they were going to hell. The Jewish parents spoke to the Campus Crudade parents about it and were told the kids were just telling them the truth.

So our family didn't have anything to do with the Campus Crusade family.

Same. A blonde coed that many would deem quite attractive by superficial standards of 20 year old guys approached a VERY lonely T4K in Sproul Plaza my 1st semester at Cal and talked me up, eventually asking me out for a "date." We made arrangements for me to pick her up at her house in Oakland. I arrived to learn the hard way it was a Mooney'/s recruiting event.

Christian's aim to do good, and probably for the most part it's better to be trained and grounded in some value system that teaches pious over proud, forgiveness over revenge, and all the rest of it VS the crap culture that is most often in TV and Film.

That said, the tenet that the world is divided between the saved and the condemned, the righteous and the heathen, the chosen and "those other people"…. That makes the world a worse place. Judgment of such a nature accomplishes little. Especially when it's based on myth, faith in something entirely unproven and unprovable.

Very funny. I didn't realize what was up until I was inside the house. I asked the guy who greeted me what was up with the people sitting in this parlor type room. He eventually informed me there was a dinner and I was expected to contribute funds to said home cooked meal. My recollection is that was my red line and I left. So I was saved by being a cheap broke college student

Had something similar happen to me after college where a girl invited me to her place, but the pitch was for some multi-level marketing thing with other people in attendance. Needless to say, my interest in her went rather cold after that. I didn't even get offered a home cooked meal.

When I was suffering massive anxiety my sophomore year and having no clue how I was doing in the pre-reqs to get into Haas, I was living in Ehrman Hall and called up the Navy recruiter and asked them to send brochures on how to become an aviator. That, and being asked to be a walk on as an intermediate hurdler by Coach Irv Hunt and a punter by the special teams coach were my only "recruitments" at CAL.

The experience at CAL is like no other.
It's what you want to make it to be.

Go Bears!

One summer when I was at Cal, 3 or 4 of us took over the lease for a few months and lived in the apartment that passed for the Cal Campus Crusade headquarters. None of us were religious. We just wanted cheap rent. It proved to be interesting. The phone was in my room, so I got to answer the calls, which were... enlightening. I got calls a couple of times a week from National headquarters (San Bernardino I guess). They never seemed to figure out that the local Cal representatives had gone home for the summer. At times they got abusive when I wasn't interested in helping them out. Then there were the calls at 7 AM on Sunday. "Hi, I just got into town. Can you tell me where I can find a really hot church?" I probably should have just kept the contact info for some random church on hand (some holy roller church in West Oakland or East Oakland would have been a hoot), but I never got around to that. I just unplugged the phone when I went to bed Saturday night.
