Bitcoin is up 10% since Diablo Way at 59K mocked Pac 10 and said the 200 wma was toast, blood is in the water, and Bitcoin buyers needed a snorkel. It is currently over 65K. Interesting.

Wasn't it at 95K before?

The discussion was whether or not 60k would hold. So far it has. As for your commentary...

It was also 3K before. And 20K. And 40K. (and over 100K) etc... It goes up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down and up... And the long term chart moves upward.

I guess if it goes up and down but it is way down, what is the point of your post?

VOTE BLUE AND FREE WAGS

Here is the long term Bitcoin chart. DW called look out below when it hit 60K, yet it is so far finding support at the price point that the posters he was arguing with claimed had a good chance of providing such support. For now, he is incorrect and you are uninformed. Obviously, that could change. See image below.

I'll answer for Wags since he is suspended - the issue with BC clearly is not whether is was a good investment many years ago, rather if it was a good buy a couple of years ago when it was in the high 5 figures. So far not so great.

It is a volatile asset. If you bought at one of the later peaks in the graph, you are either down or near even. As for the point of my original post, the 200 wma is holding thus far. It isn't "toast." Thanks.

It's interesting to learn that there are people that can "rationalize" a 38% decline as no big deal.
Given that kind of risk management, I suspect that their portfolio's most likely don't have many winners.
Or, the positions they hold are so small that being down 38% is not a material monetary loss.

Nobody is rationalizing a 38% decline. This discussion is about how you were wrong when you completely did not understand support at the wma and basically said the sky was falling. It is up more than 10% since then. For the record, I do think you have a good understanding of bio stocks, but you don't understand crypto. To each their own.

Since you have such a good understanding of crypto are you recommending it to be purchased at this $66,200 area?
If yes, what is your stop loss?

The buy was around 60K. Stop loss could be 55K. Please note that I never considered myself an expert, but it is clear to a non-expert how incorrect you were when you screamed the sky was falling and yelled that support broke at 59K. You wrongly talked down to the folks who said support was at the wma.

It seems like this was the reasonable answer:

" the issue with BC clearly is not whether is was a good investment many years ago, rather if it was a good buy a couple of years ago when it was in the high 5 figures. So far not so great."

Not great indeed. In fact disastrous if you invest to make any money

Which was responded to with a reasonable answer. I will repeat it since you apparently missed it.

I saw it but just saw a weak rationalization for the lack of investment growth, which I noted was disastrous.

It is volatile. It has peaks and valleys. If you buy at a peak, you either have to sell at the next peak and take your gain or ride it out longer. You don't buy at a peak and sell at a valley, which seems to be the only thing your tunnel vision sees when defending your wags.

So it's not a buy here at $66,200
Got it.

Or perhaps I missed some kind of "after-the fact" purchase at $60,000.

Either way, you'd use an 8.3% stop loss on any purchase around $60,000.
Got it.

So you'd use an 8.3% stop loss but for some reason you had no problem with a 38% drawdown from what another poster here had recommended back in January at $95,000 . . . because you know, Bitcoin is "volatile" and it goes "up and down and up and down".

That's some interesting risk management.
I think I'll pass.

Do whatever you want Wags. My point was and still is that the floor hadn't collapsed at 59K, which was your incorrect claim. Those who can read a chart correctly called support at 60K, which is where the buy was. I don't think this is a bad spot to buy; however, war escalations have a bad effect on the market.
