Stars was Towers' main original restaurant, and it was very good, both for the food and the atmosphere, I ate there frequently and still have their matchbox in my collection. Like many trendy places, it kind of lost momentum in the early 90s, even though the food and menu were solid and not gimmicky or too trendy, Towers was the original California cuisine pioneer along with Alice Waters. Wiki page said it closed in 99, I thought it went under a lot earlier.
