No, we were assured that it was going to drop because we have had complete control of the Strait of Hormuz after having destroyed Iran's navy and defeating them 38 times already, and the fact that oil price dropped from $108 to $105 today (after having risen from $85 in a couple of weeks) is all the proof you need here!

Do you happen to have an accurate quote for the January WTI futures contract that trades on the CME?
Or are you still posting erroneous (one day old) misinformation on that contract like you did yesterday?
Hope you aren't trying to trade off of quotes that are 24 hours old.

No.
That would be a terribly FALSE narrative.
Where does it say that I claimed January WTI was trading lower yesterday?
It doesn't.
Thanks.

Here is my basic interpretation of what happened yesterday.
DW: oil is UP! Sky falling! FALLING! ZOMG.
others: actually, futures are down or holding.
DW: Oil is UP UP UP. TRUMP NO CONTROL STRAIT!!! HE SAID HE DID!!!
I figure that your act today of accusing someone of using day old info after they said oil was down must be some sort of proof that you were wrong yesterday.

I don't even know if it's really that.
It's the same old petty and pedantic narrative coming to the defense of using DAY OLD data to make a claim that was terribly erroneous top begin with. - - - Rather than admit that they're wrong, someone else runs to their defense with more misinformation and spin.
Last week, it was the bizzare narrative about how back month futures are trading lower than the front month, without having any operating knowledge that the oil futures market has been in CONTANGO for the entire year. Nothing new.
And more often than not, when proven wrong their standard fallback is "We'll at least it isn't the end of the world!" I would imagine that if they were actually short crude oil in the last week, they wouldn't be making fun of this move. But that's what happens when people have no knowledge or "skin" in the game.
Sorry, but that's not posting in good faith.
And it has made this forum literally impossible to post in.

There is also a strong baiting element to their approach, trying to get a rise out of people and getting them riled up, leading to suspensions through coordinated mass flaggings.

The 7-day average of oil transit flow through Hormuz rose to nearly 12 MMbpd as of Sunday, easily the fastest pace since the post-MOU June-July breakout—and this time there's virtually no Iranian crude. pic.twitter.com/hV1vtlIrlJ

Hormuz traffic is roughly half of prewar level, and Saudi exports through their East- West pipeline have gone done to ZERO from 7M bpd. That's a regional deficit of around 15-17M bpd from prewar levels, more than enough for prices to shoot up much higher.
