No, we were assured that it was going to drop because we have had complete control of the Strait of Hormuz after having destroyed Iran's navy and defeating them 38 times already, and the fact that oil price dropped from $108 to $105 today (after having risen from $85 in a couple of weeks) is all the proof you need here!

Do you happen to have an accurate quote for the January WTI futures contract that trades on the CME?

Or are you still posting erroneous (one day old) misinformation on that contract like you did yesterday?

Hope you aren't trying to trade off of quotes that are 24 hours old.

Here is my basic interpretation of what happened yesterday.

DW: oil is UP! Sky falling! FALLING! ZOMG.
others: actually, futures are down or holding.
DW: Oil is UP UP UP. TRUMP NO CONTROL STRAIT!!! HE SAID HE DID!!!

I figure that your act today of accusing someone of using day old info after they said oil was down must be some sort of proof that you were wrong yesterday.

And completely without merit given the facts in evidence.
Basic reading comprehension allows for no other conclusion.

Moreover, WTI futures were never "down or holding" yesterday.
That's a preposterous claim.

That's just more MISINFORMATION.

October WTI was + 5.60
January WTI was + 3.27

^It's just argumentation for argument's sake. Maintaining a position that oil is "going down" over a 1-day downtick in what has been a spectacular runup is completely irrational, to put it mildly.

I don't even know if it's really that.

It's the same old petty and pedantic narrative coming to the defense of using DAY OLD data to make a claim that was terribly erroneous top begin with. - - - Rather than admit that they're wrong, someone else runs to their defense with more misinformation and spin.

Last week, it was the bizzare narrative about how back month futures are trading lower than the front month, without having any operating knowledge that the oil futures market has been in CONTANGO for the entire year. Nothing new. And of course, those back month futures are now several dollar a barrel HIGHER.

And more often than not, when proven wrong their standard fallback is "We'll at least it isn't the end of the world!" I would imagine that if they were actually short crude oil in the last week, they wouldn't be making fun of this move. But that's what happens when people have no knowledge or "skin" in the game.

Sorry, but that's not posting in good faith.
And it has made this forum literally impossible to post in.

There was no day old data used. Sorry not sorry but it didn't fit your ongoing narrative.

This quote for January WTI was posted mid-afternoon on Sept. 10th in the following post:

Price: $86.21

https://bearinsider.com/forums/6/topics/132518/replies/2734829

It was wrong.
It was Misinformation.

And it was posted in reply to my post which showed the accurate prices for the day from the CME.

In fact, the contract was actually trading over $4 HIGHER than what was erroneously posted at the time yesterday.

That's a FACT.

It's a basic lack of emotional maturity, arguing ad nauseum even about topics of which they have a rudimentary understanding and never acknowledging they're wrong even when exposed, so yes indeed, arguing in bad faith, and doing that ad infinitum, as if having the last word makes up for being wrong.

There is also a strong baiting element to their approach, trying to get a rise out of people and getting them riled up, leading to suspensions through coordinated mass flaggings.

To your point, DIESEL PRICES are up 60% since late February, outpacing regular gasoline.

Diesel powers farmers' tractors, combines, and pumps ... and the rising price has made it more expensive to transport produce to supermarkets.

Obviously, Perishable goods such as seafood and dairy are particularly vulnerable because refrigerated transport is even more fuel intensive.

Clearly, ENERGY inflation does not stay at the gas station. It travels by truck, rail, aircraft, and cargo ship to every store in America.

But Trump says our "little excursion" into Iran is "small potatoes" and "no big deal".

Try telling that to MAGA Farmers and MAGA Consumers that voted for him.

Good to know from our White House cheerleader Chris Wright that 10 million barrels a day on average over the past week have been passing through the Strait.

Yeah, sure they are.
How gullible do you think we are?

"It's unclear how severe any potential damage is, or how long it will be out of action," ING commodity strategists wrote in a note earlier today, referring to the East-West pipeline, which has a capacity to carry 7 million barrels of crude daily.

Hormuz traffic is roughly half of prewar level, and Saudi exports through their East- West pipeline have gone done to ZERO from 7M bpd. That's a regional deficit of around 15-17M bpd from prewar levels, more than enough for prices to shoot up much higher.
