AIPAC candidates skate, while those who don't toe the line like Platner or Massie get tens of millions spent to unseat them and a relentless media vilification campaign.

Collins is remarkably slight ahead in the latest polls, which is shocking to me, and likely says more about Jackson than her. She should be vulnerable in such a Democratic state, but Jackson has a majority negative personal views (more than 50% of those polled don't like him). Maine seems to have unique politics.

The blame for the smear campaign does not go just to Democrats, though certainly the dominant centrist wing of the Democrats did everything they could to amplify the Platner smear campaign. But even I would not say that the Democrats did that without pressure from their Israeli and corporate overlords, which they caved to quite happily.

Meanwhile, Susan Collins (a Republican) who is involved in an actual scandal goes virtually ignored by the same mainstream media, including the supposed friendly Dem outlets. Why? Cause she is loyal to Israel and the corporate donors.

They only unite against the people who are anti-Israel or who want to do something about the income disparity.

But as I said, sycophants will pretend this doesn't happen.
