Dems screwed up again not fixing it for Pratt and instead pitting a D insurgent against the establishment. When will they learn?

In some ways it's better for Republicans to not have anyone advance to the general for governor or LA Mayor. The left will win both generals easily against a right leaning candidate. Means the left has to battle itself and spend more money that it doesn't have. Steyer would be the thorn in that slightly as he's spending his own money. In LA, establishment dems vs dem socialists could turn ugly.

I don't think they want Pratt spending more time under the spotlight ripping Democrats and their dumb policies.

100% but I don't think Pratt goes away after this.

It's kinda crazy that a city that went 70.1% for Kamala Harris and 26.5% for Donald Trump isn't interested in another reality TV Republican.

Yup.

It's truly shocking how the results of this election turned out.
It's been fun watching MAGA Republican's grasp at bamboo straws and even more absurd conspiracy theories.

The Cult is truly amazing.
And terribly dumb.

How a misreading of data fueled false claims about L.A. mayoral vote count

It's totally normal for the relatively no-name candidate, whose claim to fame is being victim of potential gerrymandering for a lower level position and having a husband as a TV producer, deep in 3rd place to give a tear-filled concession speech on election night and then miraculously receive almost every Democrat vote in the 2 weeks after the election to defeat the most charismatic Republican candidate in decades.

Just another "safe and secure" election in LA.

Just because you know sh*t about Los Angeles doesn't mean she's not prominent. Her name is pretty well-known.

She's also been the center of one of the biggest City Hall scandals that made national headlines.

You really should educate yourself.

Also, it absolutely makes sense that in a Dem-filled city, many people who would never vote for Spencer Pratt, who dislike Karen Bass, would seek out the best Dem alternative and wait until it's clear who that alternative is before voting -- instead of wasting their vote on somebody else.

By the way, The New York Times has been writing about her for years, calling her a "political celebrity" in 2023.

Here's a 2020 The Hollywood Reporter article, quoting Jane Fonda.

Also, UC Berkeley, which has for years done the best polling on Los Angeles races, had Nithya in 2nd place last month.

It's not unrealistic that the top two vote getters were Democrats. It was unrealistic that the later vote dumps came in mostly for 3rd place Raman and not Bass.

It's totally realistic because the late ballots are always more lefty than the early ones in California and Raman is the most left-wing candidate in the race.

It's funny that you guys convinced yourselves that Spencer Pratt was especially charismatic. Maybe to Twitter rightoids he was, but not to the average L.A. voter. He was best known for being a villain on a reality show.

LA Democrats see Raman as more progressive than Bass and decided to vote for her much later by mail than for Bass?

Is this your own theory or are you making these statements as truth statements?

Rae Huang was considered the most left-wing candidate and the preferred choice by progressives.

The final Berkeley poll had Huang at a distant 4th, with 9% of the vote.

So a lot of the progressives who would've voted for Huang waited until determining that voting for Huang would be a waste of their vote.

And that's why Huang is under 3%.

Spencer Pratt is not MAGA or ideologically conservative. In a different time, he's probably just your average Californian liberal. But the times are crazy.

There is nothing lacking integrity in my comment. I copied and pasted from a Facebook comments section, which is something I do every blue moon. Do I need to post a bibliography when I reply? Please don't project onto me.

Raman received 40% of votes from a "new batch" of 40,000 ballots when previously, she received 24% of votes from all other batches that represented 95% of the counted electorate.

The probability of Raman receiving 40% of the last 5% of the votes is extremely low to the point of being a statistical impossibility.

Spencer Pratt got about the same percentage of vote as the more charismatic Trump. That's pretty much a high water mark. Anything higher would be suspicious.

So when Republicans win elections they aren't rigged?

Why aren't mail in ballots more effective at defeating Republican candidates nationwide?

*Do you think anyone but a fool believes all of Trump's votes were legit in his 3 elections?

Why would Trump decide that an election is the one event in his life that he is willing to start at the blocks with all the other entries?

* In January 2019, The Wall Street Journal broke the story that Donald Trump's former personal attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen, hired a technology company owner to write computer scripts to manipulate early online popularity polls in Trump's favor. The Details of the SchemeThe Target Polls: Cohen contracted the firm to rig a 2014 CNBC online poll ranking the nation's top business leaders, as well as a February 2015 Drudge Report online poll of potential Republican presidential candidates. The IT Firm: Cohen hired John Gauger, the owner of a small data and IT firm called RedFinch Solutions LLC (who also served as the chief information officer at Liberty University). The Method: Gauger was instructed to write computer scripts that would automatically and repeatedly cast votes for Trump. Despite the effort, the manipulation attempts largely failed to significantly alter Trump's standings. The Cash Bag: Gauger stated that Cohen promised him $50,000 for the work but instead handed him a blue Walmart bag containing between $12,000 and $13,000 in cash, along with a boxing glove allegedly worn by a Brazilian MMA fighter. Cohen later contested the cash claim, stating all payments were made by check.

Federal prosecutors later noted that Cohen had successfully requested a $50,000 reimbursement from the Trump Organization listed under "tech services" around the same time he requested funds for campaign-related hush-money payments.
