Have you ever thought of creating your own official, SBGold thread and posting all of your content in there?

I bet I would look at more of it there than as individual pieces.

A lot of times your new threads are about a topic that is already covered and gets high views, whereas if you start a new thread on a subject already covered it clogs up the board and you will also get a lower number of views and participation, so maybe a quick search on a topic to dig up longstanding threads on that topic.

I understand and I have tried to do better on this the last couple of weeks. I do think though some threads just die on the vine and sometimes a separate (maybe similar) post is needed. When I was suspended for who knows what, I saw this board had very slow, lukewarm engagement and activity. With me back and Wags, it's in a much better place.

So b@itch slapping me into posting all my random obits under your Obituary depository thread 5 years ago was not a big enough power move for you so now you have to schlong some other poor b@$tard into submitting to your will?

~ the Obit thread page idea was fine, traditional, if a bit anal, reactionary, conformist, & low-brow, but for a crypto right-wing non-alum with psychopathic tendancies to suggest it so he( ? ), AI bot, Mod, can go on to spam the board with their own drivel for years was an East Bay etiquette cardinal sin, babies - and Concord is an isht-hole, still

I must admit, this was quite humorous.
And I enjoyed the song. Thank you.

I didn't take you to be a writer of such great prose. Perhaps you should run your insight through an AI bot and see what comes out the other side as a haiku, or a limerick.

Or start a Letters to the Editors thread.

"Dear sir,
I am writing to provide my feedback to you regarding the username allegedly hailing from Concord."

That could make for your own valuable contribution. And some entertaining reading!

Cheers amigo!

Weekend At Bernie's was a box office success with Total Gross of $30,218,387 against a Budget of ~$15 million. And you're still mentioning it 37 years later.

The Rolling Stones are the highest-grossing live music group of all time, with a lifetime touring revenue surpassing $3.2 billion from over 44 million tickets sold since 1963. Their, often record-breaking, touring history, detailed on Billboard, is anchored by massive, long-term stadium treks that often dominate yearly revenue charts.
Quote:

Touring Revenue Milestones

Lifetime Total: Over $3.2 billion.

Hackney Diamonds Tour (2024): Grossed $235 million and sold 848,000 tickets.

No Filter Tour (2017-2021): Grossed $546.5 million over 58 shows, making it one of the highest-grossing tours of all time.

A Bigger Bang World Tour (2005-2007): Concluded with over $560 million, setting a record at the time.

Voodoo Lounge Tour (1994-1995): Held the title of the highest-grossing tour of all time for 11 years.

Key Historical Revenue Facts

Consistent Record-Breakers: The band has set the all-time record for highest-grossing tour three times (1990, 1995, 2006).

Decade Leaders: They are the only band to have the highest-grossing tour of the decade twice, in the 1990s and 2000s.

Post-COVID Return: Their 2021 No Filter tour was the first post-pandemic tour to exceed $100 million.

Other Revenue Streams: In addition to touring, the band has made over $460 million in album sales alone since 1989.

A prime example of jumping the shark in the music industry not being correlated with financial income.

The Rolling Stones were great, I am a huge fan of their early period and somewhat appreciative of their mid/late 70s stuff. Their last good album was Tattoo You (1981). Everything they did after that was mostly crap, they should have retired decades ago. The fact that there are millions of Boomers and older Xers willing to pay hundreds of dollars to see them live does not detract from this basic fact.

I have no problem with artistic interpretation or critique.

But plenty of people still like going and having the nostalgia trip.

Once Mick Taylor left, I was pretty much done. It is depressing to see musical acts that I saw in my prime and theirs*. I refuse.

At 77 he can still flat out play.

*Case in point, watching McCartney on SNL right now failing miserably because he is struggling to sing in the same key as when he was young. No. Please, just no. Paul at 83 now sounds how Linda used to sound on an isolated mic.

I'm all for good nostalgia tours, really liked the Zombies Odessey and Oracle album tour a few years ago where they replayed the entire album from 1967, and did a very good job at it.

The problem with the Stones is that they kept churning out studio albums while they were already decades past their sell by date, as if they were relevant beyond their 60s/70s repertoire.

I saw the stones way back in 1989/90? At RFK in DC in the rain. 2nd row. Massive fire explosion to start the show. It was pretty damn fun! I've never owned any of their albums, which is a bit of an oddity given my collection and their output. I guess I'm too young for them.

I've never paid much attention to them since, and I totally see your point.

But if they are having fun, who are we to say what they should be doing, whether that is new music or more public appearances?!

More power to them. McCartney, too!!
