I just checked the latest information from the Defense Department.

To date, the US Military has suffered the loss of 18 personnel in the current War with Iran, which was tragic for all their family and friends.

That is 18 deaths over six months' time, or 3 deaths per month.

However, here at home, we lose more citizens than that in Chicago South Side on a hot summer night.

This is sort of a police action, an extremely expensive police action, but it's not a war.

You conveniently IGNORED the 820 military personnel who have been wounded in action since Feb. 28th.

Shameful.

You conveniently IGNORED

the 300 people in Chicago who have been murdered;
the 1300 people in Chicago who have been sexually assaulted;
the 3200 people in Chicago who have been robbed; and
the 5000 victims of aggravated battery in Chicago since Jan. 1.

Shameful.

An important fact to note but the way you frame it makes it seem much more drastic than it really is.

Based on reports a few months back, a large majority of those injuries have been minor concussions with almost all of those service members returning to active duty.

Your number of 500 aggravated batteries in Chicago since Jan 1 is actually well below the real number, by thousands.
There are about 136 aggravated batteries in Chicago per week. Over 7,000 during the last 12 months.

Lol yes as I stated in my post, "based on reports from a few months back" Do you just not read what people write? If you can find a more recent account for the injuries then please share. Scratch that, found one more recent and it confirms the exact same thing I already said. August 6th

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2026/08/06/iran-war-traumatic-brain-injuries-troops/c09c2d4e-9184-11f1-9fdc-0a725c989a7b_story.html

" Washington Post/AP reported that most of the nearly 700 wounded at that point had experienced TBIs and returned to duty. It also confirmed that Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell had characterized the vast majority of injuries during the July period as "minor concussions."

It's not irrelevant just because you don't like the facts.

Largely true. Mild concussion symptoms are headaches.

I was saying that all injured service members should receive Purple Hearts. How is that making fun of an injury? I'm quite literally saying the opposite. They should be honored.

Contrary to all of the propaganda out of Trump and his Administration, there has been NO WINNING.

There has been no regime change.
There has been no control of the Strait of Hormuz.
There has been no control of Iran's plutonium stockpile.

Instead, we have record diesel prices, surging gasoline prices, and a yield on the 10 year pushing 5%.

In fact, former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta thinks that it could very well go on for another 6 MONTHS.

He told The Guardian: "It's no mystery that the United States and Iran are caught in a terrible stalemate, in which there really are very few options available to bring this war to an end."

He added: "I think the likelihood is this war is going to continue for another six months without being resolved."

He said that reports of tensions between staff at the Pentagon were weakening the United States' standing, saying: "Whether it's Iran, or whether it's our adversaries, they're now looking at the United States, and see weakness in terms of our ability to be able to really implement our military capability of defending our country."

"What I'm concerned about is that we're sending a message of weakness to our primary adversaries," he said.
