Rep. Ted Lieu could have asked Candace Owens direct questions but resorted to playing a parsed audio clip.

REPUBLICANS TURN WHITE NATIONALISM HEARING INTO A G.O.P. PITY PARTY
Quote:

Democrats hoped to investigate how hate speech spreads on social media. Republicans just wanted to "trigger the left."

The House Judiciary Committee's hearing about white nationalism on social media got off to a poor start Tuesday when the YouTube livestream fell victimto the very problem Congress hoped to investigate. Hundreds of anti-Semitic comments, racist missives, and declarations of white supremacy flooded the YouTube page for the hearing"Anti-hate is a code word for anti-white," wrote one user. By the time Google's representative began speaking, commenting on the livestream had been disabled altogether.

In what turned out to be a perfect metaphor for the hearing, even this news proved divisive. "This just illustrates part of the problem we're dealing with," said Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler, after The Washington Post reported that the YouTube comments had been taken down. Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert shot back in Trumpian fashion and in the most conspiratorial terms. "Could that be another hate hoax?" he asked. "Just keep an open mind."

Indeed, a hearing meant to address a deadly serious topicdata show a surge in fatal attacks by far-right extremists in recent yearswas instead derailed by Republicans veering off topic to rage about their own perceived ideological persecution at the hands of Facebook and Google. As proof, they summoned Turning Point USA communications director Candace Owens, a young black conservative who says Democrats represent a "plantation" mindset, to air her grievances about the hearing's very existence. "The hearing today is not about white nationalism or hate crimes, it's about fear-mongering, power, and control," Owens said, suggesting at one point that Democrats "blame Facebook, they blame Google, they blame Twitter, really [Democrats] blame the birth of social media, which has disrupted their monopoly on minds."
This was a hearing about White Nationalism on social media. So the GOP get Candance Owens to play Aunt Tom, tried to use the race card to defend racism, white natioanlism...core Trump supporters. Not ironically this is exactly what the OP intended as well. Straight from the Wing Nut Playbook:

A) Distract, deflect, move the goal posts
B) Blame the victim, play the victim
C) Lie, disinformation, make **** up
D) Divide, sow division and hate
E) Attack, attack, ATTACK
F) Rinse, repeat

What a sham. The Left is so triggered. Owens is black but doesn't play the part the Left wants her to play.

Hence phrases like "Aunt Tom" LMAO

...but she plays the role Conservatives want her to play: Auntie Jane. She has to ask herself this fundamental question: Does she really want to back a political philosophy that is supported almost uniformly by people who wouldn't want her to live in their neighborhoods, would bong her from joining their country clubs and that think Black Lives Matter is an organization based on a fiction? It would be like me marching with the Orangemen in Belfast during their parade on The Twelfth. Self loathing sell out is a term that comes to mind when I think of her, Clarence "Bought and Paid for" Thomas, and Ben "I am the biggest beneficiary of my own prescription pad" Carson. These are all examples of Black people cynically promoted by Conservatives for purposes of masking and or legitimizing the Agenda.

As I said in the other thread: Candace Owens is not interesting or provocative. There is no need to pay attention to her.

This was a version of Mark Meadows bringing out Trump's African American employee to show Trump is NOT a racist during the Cohen hearings. Candance Owens was brought out because she's black and would support the GOP's position that white nationalism is not a problem on social media.

This tactic is called The Black Friend Defense.

U.S. News: For Some, the 'Black Friend' Defense Is a Tired Racial Trope
Many view 'black friend defense' as a tired, hollow argument

In any case, part of the distraction from the Wing Nuts and Trumpkins is to get the conversation down the rabbit hole...to distract from reality. I'm done with the racists here. You're on ignore...but I will come after you turds if you go after serious content, like racism, Nazis, white nationalism, stupidity and ignorance...just because.

Serving up some Leftist-approved racism and identity politics, and not a shred of content....we know the Left merely pays lip service to their toke issues of racism and equality because they constantly employ it to attack their opponents.

She's an intellectually vapid and morally bankrupt know nothing who sells out her family, culture, race, and her self for money and a career of being a token black conservative. Her claiming that racism doesn't exist is just one of the many incredibly calculated and harmful lies this young woman has said in order to ingratiate herself into and climb the ranks of the conservative alt-media. **** her and everything she represents.
^This is racism and identity politics. She's black and not playing the role we'be defined for her, therefore she must be "selling out" her "family, culture, and race" (LOLOLOLOLOL) in exchange for a career, i.e. she isn't sincere. All of this based on nothing other than your own internalized bigotry and prejudices that blacks in particular are a monolith. Because of her race, she is deserving of extra vitriol.

I'm sure the other compassionate moral liberals will call your post out in 3, 2, 1...oh wait.

The Left's racism and bigotry -- and their indignant denial of it -- is like the Lyndon Johnson type racist liberal
