"THE SALTY SAILOR and the FIREMAN"

This is a Comment from KAREN VAUGHN, Mother of Aaron Vaughn, Navy Seal. She has written many books about her son and family.

Sometimes God uses the no-nonsense, salty sailor to get the job done. Appreciating what the man is doing doesn't mean we worship the salty sailor or even desire to be like the salty sailor. It doesn't even mean God admires the salty sailor. Maybe He just knows he's necessary for such a time as this.

I believe with all my heart that God placed that salty sailor in the White House to give this nation one more chance in November 2016. Donald Trump is what he is and he is still the man he was before the election and without guilt. I very much admire what that salty sailor is accomplishing.

He's not like me. That's okay with me. I don't want to be like him. I will never behave like him. I know we've NEVER had a man like him lead our nation before. It's crazy and a little mind-blowing at times. But I can't help admire the stamina and ability he has acting with his heart rather than a calculated, PC, think tank-screened, carefully edited script. I still believe that is WHY he became our President and WHY he's been able to handle a landslide of adversity and STILL pass unprecedented amounts of good legislation for our country AND do great works for MANY other nations, including Israel.

I'm THRILLED with what he's doing for my nation, for the cause of Christ (whether intentional or unintentional, doesn't matter to me), and for the concept of rebuilding America and putting her FIRST. I will not be ashamed of my position because others don't see him through the same lens.

Should it matter to me if a fireman drops an f-bomb while he's pulling me from a burning building? Would I really care about what came out of his mouth in those moments? Heck no! I'd CARE about what he was DOING. He wasn't sent there to save my soul and I'm not looking to him for spiritual guidance. All I'm thinking in those moments is, "Thank you, GOD, for sending the fireman." AND DONALD TRUMP IS OUR FIREMAN.

I'll soon post this article again for those who still might not understand me. This man is crass. Okay. He's not careful with what he says. Okay. You feel offended that he's not a typical statesman. Okay. But he is DOING THE JOB of rebuilding the nation my son died for... the nation I feared was on a fast track to becoming a hopeless cause.

As an Irish Catholic I can say, without any qualifiers, that Evangelicals are every bit as bat guano crazy and in denial of reality as the hierarchy of the Catholic Church.

Is there supposed to be a reason that a parent of a Navy Seal's opinion is more relevant than mine?

Yogi, nobody has suggested that, certainly not me. Unlike many on this site who hurl insults and demeaning comments at those with whom they disagree, you don't see that from me. Peace, brother.

To quote Offshore bear: "This lady is out of her damn gourd. What is the point of posting drivel like this here."

Offshore, I get it. It's drivel because it disagrees with your opinion. That's a nice open-minded attitude and reflects a problem with today's society. Many on t his board take the attitude "If you agree with me you're smart and a deep thinker; if you disagree with me, you're uneducated scum, a hillbilly, and backward". Hardly what you'd expect from a Cal-educated person.

HAHAHA...delusional Christians willing to call him a salty sailor when reality and evidence says he's a criminal and mobster....and really fccking stupid and incompetent. Heck, he might be functionally illiterate.

Seriously, how fuq'ing stupid does one have to be to rationalize Christian values with criminal behavior.

Now if any of you REAL Christians want to have a real conversation about Christianity and Trump, full doctrine and the whole 9 yards...lets go! We'll start with the p*ssygrabbing and porn star banging.

Donald J. Trump is about as Christian as a dried piece of sh*t on a crucifix.

Have a nice day!

Speaking of hurling insults, here's another thing she has said about the preceding president.

"As Commander-in-Chief, your actions or lack thereof Mr. President, cost lives. As you bumble about in your golf cart, slapping on a happy face and fist-pounding your buddies, your cowardly lack of leadership has left a gaping hole not only in America's security but in the security of the entire globe. Your message has come across loud and clear, sir: You are not up to this job. You know it. We know it. The world knows it,"

It is pretty astounding how many Republican voters automatically associate "Christian" with Republican politicians, even when you point out that they actually aren't religious and don't behave in a very Christian way. It just astounds me how religious people (pretty much any religion) can find ways to twist and contort logic in defense of an indefensible position when it comes to their particular religious creed.

By any reasonable measure, Obama is far more of a Christian than Trump is.

Jeez, tough crowd here. I'll answer this for Golden. Yes, her minority opinion about how our government should be run has more weight than the opinion of a parent of a non-soldier or even mother of a less revered class of soldier because Seals are bad-asss.

You know, their position on how they shouldn't have named which Seal team took out bin Laden is probably a pretty valid point. OTOH, how far do we need to conceal who it was? Do we refuse to admit that it was an American operation of any kind? If not, then aren't all families of all servicepeople targets? Do we admit that it was a Naval operation? If so, are all families of Naval servicepeople targets?

I'm as far an expert on the miliary as can be (other than the period where I was enjoying the hell out of "Mail Call"), but to the best of my limited knowledge, the actual identities of Naval SEALs is not generally advertised by anyone in the military. It would be the families and the men themselves who self identify.

*Oh, and with regard to tRump's interplay with God, I am pretty sure tRump is just another entry item on a long list of occurrences that are allowed to proceed without Divine intervention, you know, natural disasters, genocide and children being molested by clergy.

A lot of Protestant Evangelical support of Trump is based less on his behavior and more on his support of Israel. They believe that Israel must survive so it can fulfill some end of days prophecy.

I'm pretty sure that Israel's survival was secured way before the arrival of the Mad King because of its nuke armed submarine fleet and its nuclear-capable ballistic missiles that are buried deeply enough that they would survive a pre-emptive nuclear strike. Of course this would be news to Evangelicals in light of the fact they aren't reading a lot of books other than The Good One.
