Mods, could the pop up ads on mobile, which actually obstruct BI content, be set to not reappear for a period of time after being X'd out? At present, BI on mobile is like some whack-a-mole video game, which may lead to less frequent refreshes and time spent on BI. Also, the ads are ageist against Republicans. Can one expect older Republicans to use this site on mobile? In another 24 hours Sonofoski is going to have 300 browser windows open from accidentally clicking on ads.

Thought experiment: these intrusive ads are the new norm on BI and it will never go back to how it was before.

Thank you for posting. I've been formulating my snarky, passive aggressive post about these ads for a couple of days. I try to resist because, well, the site is free but... misery.

I haven't seen them on my iPads, but I see them on my iPhone.

I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't difficult to close.

Yeah I can't get past the fake virus pop ups. Basically had to turn everything off to even post this response on mobile.

I just scroll through them which is much easier than whacking the mole.

I just use this site on a laptop, where I can kill all the stupid privacy violations that Greg builds into his website, while paying him $0.

Right before we remove T from office. Busy time. Need the cray cray ad levels to go down to make this site functional on mobile.

Thank BNI. I frankly never thought of having an Ad Blocker for use on my iPhone, but I just grabbed "AdBlock Pro", which is working just fine for Safari (normally use Chrome, but no biggie to switch). Problem solved.

The popup ads haven't been much of a problem for me, but I'll toss in my experience in case it helps the admins. I haven't had any problem with popup ads on my iPad using Chrome. On my PC, no popup ads on Firefox but I did open Opera a few days ago and did see the popup ads. As I don't use Opera much, it wasn't much of a problem to switch to Firefox. Some update to Chrome about a year ago broke it on my PC so I can't comment on Chrome there. As for my android phone, I don't follow BI on it often, but I don't recall seeing any popup ads recently.

I'm not using Adblocker on any of my devices but I'll look into it. It's probably a good idea to use it.

The purveyor of the pop ups must have read my post about ignoring the pop ups and just scrolling through them. Now some of the pop ups have grown 3 times in length making scrolling through them harder than closing them.
Since the dawn of the pop up, I frequently get that bogus warning that my iPhone is corrupted when I visit this site.

Not only are there pop-up ads but they sometimes direct you to a bogus website that says your phone has been compromised. When that happens the only thing I can do is close the browser and sign in again. If that happens too many more times I am going to stop posting from my phone entirely.

On an android phone, in Chrome, not too bad. The pop ups only take up about a third of the screen, half a screen if I'm typing a comment.

Yup. Admins haven't done anything.

I can live with the pops ups...but what I can't live with is that after rebooting my iPhone helltopay1 and BearForce2 are stuck on permanent Ignore and I can't budge it.
