Hopefully he wants to stay home. Reading this I was curious how he plays. I was shocked. He is unbelievable, great footwork, real skills, plays with both hands, amazing athleticism. . Is he old enough to re-classify? I am joking, sort of.

LOL. he has better moves than ANY of our post players. Please come young man.

I was also talking about Rabb. Shocky1 mentioned Rabb, Sluggo linked to a video of Rabb, and socaltownie was talking about Rabb's post moves. We were all talking about Rabb.

2014 bears offered thomas welsh 7' 210 lbs scored 22 pts as loyola (17-5) beat st francis 55-44...welsh (rockfish aau team) is an outstanding student athlete with a 3.8 gpa at an academically strong la hs with classes in honors algebra 2 and ap environemental science...tw's little bro henry is 6'8" and plays as a frosh on the cubs varsity (just like jordan matthew's little bro jonah at santa monica)

jordan matthews poured in 27 pts as santa monica (18-5) defeated the culver city centaurs (???) 67-54

kameron rooks scored 13 pts with 10 boards as mission hills (18-4) knocked off san pasqual 72-50

great players want the ball at the end of the game: amhaad rorie scored 24 pts on 7-16 shooting and made 2 clutch fts in the last 20 seconds (and all 4 fts in the last minute & 38 seconds) as lincoln (15-2) won on the road at arch rival foss 74-73 as the abes move closer to a narrows 3a title

ar described this key game as "ten out of ten"

2015 #1 ranked player ivan rabb is averaging 23.5 pts & 13 rpg for bod and hc lou richie...just as importantly, rabb has increased his gpa a full point while at bod from his school days at montera middle school (oakland)

ir is currently 6'9" 204 lbs (up from 176 lbs last year) and will likely develop into a 6'11" 245 lb frame

with monty sr personally handling ivan's recruitment, the bears are the early leaders for this future all american

This is a great thread. Thanks Shocky...should be gettin' paid for this. Even if we only get Bird for two seasons (anyone's guess), a backcourt of Wallace, Kreklow (fingers crossed), Rorie, Mathews, and Singer looks to be a very promising rotation.

Don't know how Singer did, but his team won on senior night against a pretty good Champagnat Catholic. His tweet:

Sam Singer ‏@samsinger123
Another amazing crowd tonight. Thank you to everyone who came out. Meant alot to us. Great senior night. #22-2

District finals start Tuesday night as Ransom Everglades starts their run at a possible Florida state championship.

shocky1 is not jay john (has twice the hair of jj but only half the bb iq)

i'm a haas biz school undergrad alum who is one of 13 people in the world (and the youngest) to play the current golf magazine world top 100 courses...not born with a silver spoon, caddied at san francisco golf club during my berkeley days

a cal degree will offer our bears monster class tight friendships that will last a lifetime, potential financial success beyond their wildest imaginations, an appreciation of diversity & an open mind, and the ability to someday (but hopefully not anytime soon) raise academically & intellectually curious children

cal is more than a bb factory for myopic dumb azz hoopsters, we r the university of california, berkeley, the number #1 ranked public university in the world

kameron rooks (3.5 gpa) led mission hills (19-4) with 14 pts & 11 boards to a 74-45 blowout of the san dieguito academy

still developing jr phenom amhaad rorie brought only his b game with 15 pts and atypical ice cold 3 pt shooting as lincoln (15-3) was upset on their home court by wilson (52-49) after the abes recent emotional victory over arch rival foss

expect a smart guy like ar (3.8 gpa) to learn & bounce back bigtime

jordan matthews (3.55 gpa) & his santa monica teammates (18-6) lost a heartbreaker due to a 3 pt bomb at the buzzer 52-50 to the housewives of beverly hills

monday is maintenace & caddie playing day at sfgc...many happy memories of playing with the greens staff intentionally turning on the sprinklers while we were putting and drenching us

these days i visit as a golf digest rating panelist & treated like a king

all american jabari bird (3.00+ at an academically strong hs) scored 22 pts (8-12 fts), 8 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals and turned out the lights after sweeping the floor as salesian (21-3) knocked off sheldon (sacramento) 69-60

this is all after a scoreless 1st q for jb...true champions stare down adversity and successfully move forward w/o drama

the bears monster class is gaining momentum with a potentially epic 2013 season

#1 ranked 2015 ivan rabb pounded inside for 17 pts to lead all scorers as bod (18-3) defeated san lorenzo 72-56

the biggest misconception among bears fans is that monty and crew have not targeted a bf...erik armstead 6'7" 280 lbs was virtually enrolled at cal last january

in any case, ir is the most talented young big man on planet earth

and ir's grandfather is the bear's most loyal fan

Diva and Shocky...
As an O'Dowd alum, I can tell you we've done OK with regard to recruiting BOD athletes over time. The one sport that we absolutely need to do a better job recruiting is Mens hoops. That one sport is the core of 90% of BOD sports success. Recently, we missed on Ashley (I know he finished @ Finley), and it will be a tough pull IMO to get Raab. The key as I see it, is what Monty does this year and next recruiting to Cal. We need to be seen as a destination that players see themselves playing for as recruits. We have a solid class now and we need another next year. Rorie is a solid start...

ALBANY -- Jabari Bird had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead the Salesian High boys basketball team to a 69-60 nonleague win over Sheldon-Sacramento in a matchup between the top two ranked teams in Northern California.
Sheldon entered the game at Albany High ranked No. 3 in the state by CalHiSports.com, and Salesian began the night at No. 8...

The Huskies got as close as 53-51 with 4:35 to play, but Bird scored a pair of key baskets on putbacks that squashed Sheldon's momentum and allowed the Pride to put the game away.

Great updates. Bird vs. Dakarai Allen must have been a good one. Singer is killing it in Florida. And Mathews and Rooks are doing their thing. It'll be interesting to see who we add in the Spring.

As of right now, it doesn't look like we'll have any room for a spring addition. Of course Crabbe could go pro, but far from a sure thing.

pure shooting sam singer scored 16 pts in only a quarter and a half in ransom everglades 67-28 thrashing of ronald reagan

then on senior night ss exploded for 26 pts in a 71-58 grand finale over champagnat...sam's #1 will be retired after this season, the 1st player in re's history (founded in 1903)...sam's humility, academic preparation (3.4 gpa at an elite hs/turned down harvard) & gym rat work ethic will make him a tremendous future golden bear team player

jr alonzo mourning III had 12 boards & 9 blocks against champagnat...both hc claude grubair and amIII's dad are encouraging the 6'9" 220 lbs (with the frame to add another 30 lbs of good weight) blue chip big man to float less on on the outside and pound it inside

ransom evergaldes is now 22-2 (plus 2 unofficial preseason wins) as they head into the florida state playoffs tomorrow against terra in the quest of a state title
