Hunter Finds New Home With Bears
6-2/180 Central East (Fresno, CA) wide receiver Jeremiah Hunter joined the Cal football commitment parade today, letting Cal running backs coach Nick Edwards know of his decision today a day after his unofficial visit to Cal last night.
“I went there yesterday and we were watching the Houston Rockets and Warriors game and it just felt like family for me there,” said Hunter. “I was there with my family, just chilling, talking with Coach (Burl) Toler and Coach Edwards and could really just see myself fitting in there.”
The 3 star receiver has a connection to Cal through former Central East and current Cal defensive end Zeandae Johnson.
“i know Zeandae because he went to my high school in Fresno, too,” note Hunter.
In addition to comfort level, a couple other factors entered into Hunter’s decision.
“I like the academics and location at Cal a lot, too. It’s a lot nicer weather than Fresno, that’s for sure,” said Hunter.
Hunter had a stellar junior season for Central East, hauling in 28 touchdowns on the year for more than 1,500 yards. He describes his strength as his size, catch radius and ability to haul in contested passes.
