Cal Football Camp Day 14

August 17, 2019

Exactly two weeks before they kick off the regular season the Bears held their 14th practice of fall camp under sunny skies in Berkeley on Saturday

Quarterback Chase Garbers, who head coach Justin WIlcox acknowledged would be the starter if the season opened today, had one of his better days since camp opened. He efficiently directed the top offense during several of the 11-on-11 sessions, including third down and red zones, He seemed to be the whole quarterback package, making a variety of throws, hitting the “hot’ receiver when pressure was coming, stepping up to avoid the rush, scrambling when necessary and throwing on the run, even while moving backward.
