WSU Preview: Defense Has Made Cougars an Elite Team

Washington State's Mike Leach brought his "Air Raid" to Pullman six years ago, and created instant offense in the Palouse. The word was, "If he ever gets a defense, the Cougars will be really good."

Well, he has and they are. 

Off to a 6-0 for the first time since they were 7-0 in 2001, the Cougs are ranked eighth in the country. Two weeks ago they had a season-defining upset of USC and last week went into Eugene and took care of Oregon, 33-10.
