Goode Getting Better

Cal defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter had a reputation as quite a good recruiter when he was at Fresno State. But he whiffed a couple of years ago on a player he really wanted. Now he is glad he did.

DeRuyter went hot and heavy after a linebacker from Texas named Cameron Goode.

"I first saw him when I was at another school (Fresno State) and we wanted to recruit him as an outside linebacker in a 3-4," DeRuyter said this week.
