SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 announced late Saturday evening that the 120th Big Game at Stanford Stadium next Saturday, November 18 will kick off at 5 pm PT and be televised live by FOX. Cal (5-5, 2-5 Pac-12) is one win shy of becoming bowl eligible for only the second time since 2011 while Stanford (7-3, 6-2 Pac-12) remains in contention for the Pac-12 North Division title and a spot in the Pac-12 Championship game.

The first Big Game was played in 1892, beginning a series that is tied for the sixth-longest active running series and tied for the seventh-longest series all-time between Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams. Stanford holds a 62-46-11 all-time advantage and has a current winning streak of seven including a 45-31 victory in the most recent Big Game last season at California Memorial Stadium. Stanford's current seven-game win streak in the series ties its longest of seven straight also accomplished from 1995-2001.

Cal's most recent Big Game victory came at Stanford Stadium in 2009 when the Bears were a 34-28 winner in a game that featured Mike Mohamed's memorable game-saving interception inside of two minutes remaining in the contest at the Cal three-yard line and Shane Vereen's performance rushing for 193 yards and a career-high-tying three rushing touchdowns on a career-high 43 carries. Cal equaled its longest win streak in the series with five straight victories from 2002-06 and won seven of eight from 2002-09.

The Big Game has featured some of the most memorable finishes in the history of college football with five contests being decided on the final play, including the famous 1982 Big Game that ended with Cal's five-lateral, 57-yard kickoff return through the Stanford Band for a touchdown that will forever be remembered simply as "The Play" giving the Bears an improbable 25-20 victory.

A total of 52 contests have been determined by one touchdown or less.

Radio broadcasts of all Cal football games can be heard live on KGO 810 AM, the Cal Bears Sports Network powered by Learfield, SiriusXM satellite radio and CalBears.com via TuneIn. The Toyota Tailgate pregame show starts one hour before kickoff.

This is great news! Two of those voices you will hear yelling "Go Bears!" will belong to my 8 yr old son and me. And if he falls asleep as soon as we get back to the car, he will pretty much make his bedtime!
