The partnership will officially begin on July 1.

"We are excited to enter into this new partnership that allows our 30 sports programs to be outfitted in Nike gear," Knowlton said. "It will continue to elevate our brand while providing our student-athletes and staff the resources they need to compete at the highest level."

BSN's involvement suggests we're getting more "ready made" Nike stuff with minimal design input. Prolly to be expected since we're not the Ducks or a more high profile program with clout.

If we stick with a classic Cal uniform rather than something Nike comes up with I for one will be much happier than if we were "a high profile" client getting Nike *******ized stuff.

Money is the only issue. Hopefully we are getting good money, but I doubt it. Our brand is down, they know we are desperate and it is Knowlton negotiating on our behalf. We will be fortunate to not be paying them.

After fUCLA leaves for the Big10, it would be awesome to become the Jordan brand school in the P10. Nike only has 1 school per conference that wears Jordan brand and right now the baby bruins are it.

Regardless, being a Nike school will be more attractive to prospective recruits than the current situation...

Good news! Underarm had us in that nasty headlock, trying to kill the Cal brand by not producing products. I will NEVER buy another UA product in my lifetime.

UCLA is only getting like 500k/yr cash from Nike - they aren't exactly paying a lot for west coast teams these days.

Really hoping the BSNSports aspect still includes free gear for the non rev teams. If all sports other than football and MBB are simply stock designs with a Cal logo on them to keep em cheap, I really don't think that's a problem.

I feel like the Rodgers era Cal Football jerseys were pretty much 'stock' too. Like the Broncos jerseys of the time with gold stripes instead of orange with a solid dark blue base color. WVU had similar jerseys too.

Love that we have Nike. But where's all the rage about giving money to Phil Knight?

I'd take anyone as long as it means football jerseys and other normal apparel will be sold again. It's vintage Cal to not sell jerseys for over a year without explaining the situation.

I really liked the Big Game uniforms: vintage striping on the sleeves (a throwback to the Wonder Teams!) and no stripes on the pants (stripes make players look smaller), though I'd prefer it with a blue helmet (shiny not matte) with the gold Cal script. Would Nike make that?

As long as the players are able to sell advertising on their uni's, I'm all in.
