Cal Scrimmage Weekend Recruiting Visit Recap
Recruits all the way from the 2024 class to 2026 took in Cal's first full pads scrimmage of spring ball on Saturday. Here’s a recap from some of this weekend’s visitors.
Robert Santiago - 6-2/170 2025 3 star De La Salle ATH - Offers from Cal, Oregon, Washington and Miami
“I loved the visit to Cal,” Santiago said. “Everything was setup nice. My first impression of everything was exciting. I loved the facilities, the coaching staff and the new field. It’s a great school and a great team. I got to meet the players and they told me everything about Cal that I wanted to know.”
CJ Lavender - 5-10/165 2026 Mater Dei ATH -Offers from USC, Georgia, Ole Miss, Penn State and more
“It was a good visit,” Lavender said. “Nice hospitality, from the staff to the helpers. They looked pretty good out there for their first practice in pads. They are really doing their thing. The facilities were nice. My favorite part was the sleeping pods.”
Madden Williams - 6-1/175 2026 St. John Bosco ATH - ASU and Georgia Tech offers
“My visit was great,” Williams said. “It was fun seeing some of the guys from the Trinity League and getting to see some of my fellow Bosco brothers again (DE Nate Burrell, OLB Iele Ieremiah and LS Jake Arguello) and Derek Wilkins is from Irvine like me.
“I had a great impression of the school. They showed great hospitality and love and it felt like home. My wide receiver coach at Bosco is Geoff McArther. He is a Cal legend and talks about how special it is. The coaches were nice and showed me around and it felt very inclusive. Coach Toler took the time to talk to me about the new offensive concepts and how dynamic it will be this year and how I’m a player that would do really well in their system. The facilities were nice and it was fun seeing Mavin (Anderson) again and catching up with family. We have known each other for 5-6 years and we train with the same receivers coach in the summer.”
Bo Tate - 6-1/200 3 star Draper, Utah MLB - Oklahoma State, WSU, Boston College and more
“It was fun!” exclaimed Tate. “I was really impressed with the coaches and facilities. Coach Sirmon was great talking to me and he really thinks I could fit in at his program. The recruiters were awesome and treated me great. I liked watching practice and loved what I saw on the defensive side of the ball.”
Carson Su’esu’e - 6-5/200 2024 3 star QB - Offers from Tennessee, Utah, ASU and more
