Cal Football Fall Camp Day 4

It was a defensive day in the early heat on Sunday. The team practiced in shells (upper pads) in what they call a "Thud" session with plenty of hitting and contact and without tackling to the ground. There were plenty of interesting observations to be had.

On a hot and almost painfully beautiful Sunday morning, the Bears, fresh from a day off, came out and got downright defensive with that side of the ball dominating the action.

That’s not surprising at this point in camp and the Thud cadence always favors the defense as they don’t have to tackle to the ground.  Nonetheless, it was relentless ball-hawking and a fierce pass rush that told the story of the fourth practice.
