Wanted to post this game report here, too, to give the women's hoops program some love. 5-0 with some really strong defense and a lot of weapons.
HC Charmin Smith has totally remade the team with transfers and new recruits to address the defensive and scoring deficiencies they had in recent seasons where they were good enough to win most of the non-conference games but often fall just short in stacked conference play with a really deep Pac-12. They should be in much better position to compete this season, particularly if center Michelle Onyiah can stay on the court with the whistle-happy Pac-12 refs. She's been fine in the two road games with no Pac refs, funny enough.
They really need fan support beyond the women's hoops diehards. I've been to all 3 of their home games and watched the others and they put on a show. Come on out and support them, starting Friday at noon vs San Jose State at Haas.
