Bears Add All-Conference JC Safety Isaiah Crosby
The Bears picked up a commitment today from All-Conference JC safety Isaiah Crosby a couple days after his official visit.
The 5-10/175 Trinity Valley (Manor, TX) Community College soph holds 27 offers, including Utah, WSU, Texas Tech, SMU, North Carolina State, West Virginia and more. The 3 star safety previously took official visits to WSU on 11/17 and Texas Tech on 12/1. As a full qualifier, Crosby is eligible to enroll in the spring. The SWJCFC Conference Defensive Player of the Year totaled 41 tackles and 5 interceptions for the season.
"I think the coaching there and the culture they established at Cal and then with Cal being the number one public university and having a great business school, I just feel like all the pieces fit," Crosby said of his commitment to Cal.
"They like me at free safety there.” As for his playing style, he noted: "I'd compare myself to Earl Thomas and Budda Baker. Budda Baker was one of the guys Coach Brown and Coach Watson coached."
The JC transfer was especially comfortable on his visit with the players and coaches at Cal.
"It was great on my visit when I met the team," Crosby said. "It's a cool group of guys they've got there and I think it's just a great environment to be in if you're playing football
"The Bay Area is beautiful. It was my first time coming to the Bay Area and Cali and I just loved it. It was amazing.
“They’ve got a lot of Texas cats over there so that's real cool.
"I think it's definitely going to be great being a part of they change to the ACC just because this is something new. And when Cal plays at SMU, the whole family can come out."
Crosby was the 15th high school/JC signee of the ‘24 class.
