Bears Grab Big Mississippi State OT Leon Bell Through Portal

The Bears continued to get deeper on the offensive line, adding their fourth portal o-line commit and sixth OL commit overall with today’s addition of Mississippi State OT, Leon Bell‍.

The 6-8/325 OT started out in the JC ranks, earning Top 20 status in the nation before transferring to Mississippi State in 2023. With JC seasons not counting towards collegiate eligibility and Bell having taken a redshirt season and missing most of his other season at MSU due to injury, he believes he has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

“The different opportunities outside of football at Cal are big for me,” Bell noted of some of the main reasons for his commitment. “And Coach Anae’s a cool coach!”

Bell joins fellow portal OT commits Lamar Robinson‍ and LaJuan Owens‍  as well as OG Tyson Ruffins‍ as the Bears' current 2025 portal additions.
