Bears Add Another Commitment From 2nd OV Weekend With Fanua
The Bears made another addition from their second big official visit weekend of the summer, picking up a commitment from 3 star Mount Miguel defensive end Frank Fanua.
The 6-3/280 3-sport (football/basketball/wrestling) athlete also plays on both sides of the line, compiling 17 tackles, 3 TFL and 1 sack in 8 games as a junior on the defensive side of the ball.
“My official visit was great,” Fanua said. “What stood out most to me was the Polynesian staff and culture and how comfortable I was, as I didn't only see them as coaches but also uncles and mentors. Also, the education there is second to none. I can receive about the greatest education and play great Division 1 football at Cal.”
An excellent student with a 4.0 GPA, Fanua was an early offer for the Bears with an offer extended in the first month of his junior season. Fanua also held offers from Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State and more before committing to Cal.
Fanua becomes the 15th commitment from the 2026 class, joining QB Brady Palmer, running back Victor Santino, WR EJ Morgan, TE Taimane Purcell, OLs Tommy Tofi, Elisha Faamatuainu and Artem Korchagin, DL Nemyah Telona, edge Camron Brooks, ILBs Jonathan McKinley and Jaxon Pyatt and DBs Jayden Crowder and Deon Jackson.
