Women's Crew Wins Cal's Only National Title in '18; Primed for Repeat

The women’s crew, the only Cal team to win a national championship in the academic year just concluded, has a good chance to get back on top again in 2019. That would make three NCAA titles in four years.

“The foundation is here,” head coach Al Acosta said in a telephone interview recently. “I think we have a good recruiting class coming in. The rowers that are here are really good. It’s a new year, the team will have to rebuild itself again.
