Cal's 2017 recruiting class, the first for head coach Justin Wilcox, was not considered one of the better ones in the Pac-12, and only four true freshmen even played a year ago.

This year's freshmen group is rated deeper and stronger. Three games in, four true freshmen have already played -- on offense alone.

The two that have made the most impact so far on offense are wide receiver/punt returner Nikko Remigio and running back Chris Brown.
