My favorite circular logic on this thread: I wont get vaccinated cuz COVID keeps infecting unvaccinated people.

And we are supposed to "respect" this personal choice though it puts us all in greater jeopardy.

Thanks BluenGold for putting it more succinctly than I could.

I wonder if the people who are willing to "respect" a personal choice to ignore the no smoking signs in restaurants, airplanes, movie theaters, busses etc.
"I have a right to smoke my cigar wherever I want. And no government official has any right to restrict my freedom of choice"

But Maybe some Cal grad would say: "l like this guy. He says what he believes come hell or high water. He is cut from the same mold as the Cal protestors of old."

Another thing: Rodgers' antics (with everything) remind me of Favre, whom Rodgers has become close to.

Rodgers is 14 years younger than Favre.

14 years ago, 2007, was Favre's final season.

14 years ago was also when Rodgers had his first breakout moment, filling in for Favre.

I wonder if history could repeat itself.

Let's please hold off on going into full demonization mode, Okaydo. He has a lot of friends and acquaintances. I'm sure some of them are normal, decent people, while some might be d@uchy. Maybe some aren't famous. Who's to say the Barstool guy is a close friend? Doubt they hang out much. We shouldn't be responsible for all the questionable decisions that our friends and acquaintances make.

Oh, no. It looks like Rodgers is going to complain about cancel culture again.

I like to laugh at people who take themselves too seriously (such as many of you). Guilty.

And yeah Rodgers is full of himself.

One must now wonder if that huge story about whether AR would retire, etc, instead of play in GB had at least something to do with his stupid decision not be vaccinated.

I'm still a Rodgers fan on general principle, but it would be crazy of him to really think his vax status wouldn't be revealed at some point. I mean, come on, he's Aaron Freaking Rodgers.

Can't completely disagree with that, but he has a few redeeming qualities. Among them: he hasn't killed anyone and he's one of the greatest football players of all time.

I remember when Rodgers befriended then opened a restaurant with Milwaukee Brewers player Ryan Braun. Then Braun tested positive for steroids. Rodgers dropped him as a friend.

Rodgers is extremely careful about the image he cultivates, as we all know. Rodgers has chosen to publicly associate his brand with Portnoy's, even after all the N-word/misogynistic/racist/rapey/toxic stuff. Portnoy's brand benefits from being connected with Rodgers. And it's odd that Rodgers -- who specifically used the word "misogynists" in an interview with ESPN's Mina Kimes in 2017 in describing the experiences of his ex Olivia Munn to be publicly associating with a guy who is the poster child for misogyny. (It's also odd that Rodgers, who called out Packers fans for booing Muslims 5 years ago, for associating with a guy who proudly makes racist comments. Rodgers doesn't have to associate with him, but he has chosen that. This isn't the same as, say, Jared Goff or Collin Morikawa going on Barstool's Pardon My Take. Rodgers is openly associating his brand with Portnoy's toxicity.

I'm not anti-Rodgers. I want him to win a Super Bowl because I don't want Sean McVay to win a Super Bowl. But I think there's a direct line to him being connected to Barstool to him being anti-vaxx.

Haven't followed Portnoy's story closely so I'll try to get caught up. His association and dealings with Portnoy have probably gone unnoticed by 98% of BI.

It seems very much like he lied. Says he was 'immunized'. There are only 2 ways to be immunized: vaccine or previous infection.

He never got the vaccine. So his immunization statement suggests he was previously infected. However, we now know that Rodgers petitioned the nfl to get an alternative treatment authorized (probably some hippy shiet like drinking Kale juice) so while it's not conclusive he lied, it seems likely that he did.

He answered the question "Are you vaccinated" with "Yeah" when he could have said, "No, but I'm immunized by prior infection." He lied.

"I (vaxed) don't choose to impose upon others, respect unique situations and choices we have with our bodies, as I have consistently."

If a person is not vaxxed and moving amongst the population unmasked, and without social distancing, then it is that person who is doing the "imposing" on both his fellow man and healthcare workers at the hospital.

People are free to make "choices with their own bodies," including pouring gas on themselves and flicking da Bic….so long as they don't put any structures or other people in danger.

The problem is that the type of person who is vax resistant, often does not view it as a civic duty to keep his fellow man safe, and thus they want to hang out with the general population and not deprive themselves. In other words, they want the whole enchilada.

For those parents who don't want their kids vaxxed: that is your absolute right. Home school them and shut the f@uck up. They will learn a lot from you and grow up to be real smart like you are.

There is no conclusive evidence, none, at least as of couple weeks ago, that being vaxed prevents the spread. The vaccines are to protect oneself.

The two most careless people I know were the first in line to get vaxed, then vaxed again actually. They were shopping when most of us were were ordering groceries online. They were seen in Christmas photos with neighbors, with no masks, that type nonsense. They both got the virus at some point, not surprisingly... Idiots.

As of more than a couple weeks ago, there is evidence your statement is at least misleading (being vaccinated does make you less likely to spread the virus):

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/vaccinated-people-are-less-likely-spread-covid-new-research-finds-n1280583

So the vaccines are both to protect yourself and others.

I love the argument that vaccines don't prevent the spread of COVID because the disease is still spreading. Those who make such argument ignore the fact that Covid is spreading overwhelming among the UNVACCINATED.

They refuse to be vaccinated because COVID continues to spread. But COVID continues to spread because they and millions like them refuse to get vaccinated.

Except Rodgers' anti-vaxx stance seems mostly based on some silly hippie s***, not the kind of thing you'd expect Portnoy to be into.

I suspect he's not thinking all that deeply about any of this. It's just a reflexive "who's being nice to me now" thing.

I don't get it. Once they announce he has to sit out for 10 days, everyone is going to know he isn't vaccinated. NFL protocols are very specific regarding vaxxed players vs un-vaxxed.
