Dimitrig, you're assuming the worst and IMHO it's not that. He's just personalizing it in the context of the intro, which is not uncommon. Maybe he just likes how Berkeley University sounds. He would likely use a name that was more agreeable to you if he were on Jeopardy or interviewing for a job (which he might never have to do again).

He did it again yesterday! I was listening to the game on the radio while driving and he mentioned that one of the players was a K-A-L-E bear. Not sure if it was Alex Mack or someone else he was referring to--could have been Marvin Jones for the Jags.
