This game should be a rivalry game, even if not quite as much as the crosstown rivalries, and it's up to the teams to make the matchups more compelling.

Having said that, there would have been a big crowd in Ann Arbor today even if it was a matchup between a 7-win team and a 4-win team.

With as little protection as this o-line is offering tonight, you'd need to have prime Cam Newton back there to turn every busted pass play into a 12-yard QB scramble.

There have been many screens. Gains have usually been between minus 2 and plus 2 yards on those.

For the other two ideas, what worked against Stanford's D isn't going to work as well against UCLA.

Roll outs, maybe, but you'd have to trust someone on the line to hold back the DE long enough for Garbers to throw or turn the corner on a run.

End around runs... they worked against Stanford's slow front seven last week, but against better defenses you need RBs with strong acceleration to turn the corner quickly.
