6'1" 185 lbs +1 athletic darius curry from long beach poly a big time attendee at cal's 2024 junior day last weekend

darius is not a dumb azz, he gotta 3.2 gpa

what are the 2 most monster clues that portend a future commitment in any sport to cal?

first of all, a recruit bringing their moms to campus to meet our coaches & secondly a targeted prospect saying in interviews that cal is "the number one ranked public university in the world"

the jackrabbits know moms matter (namaste)#

yeah a lotta of them long beach poly jackrabbits got the world class speed & mentally unlimited academic ambition to compete on the field & in the classrooms of the #1 ranked public university in the world

Agree Big C! Thinking about him running out of the tunnel for the first time still gives me goosebumps! Been an emotional few days for him knowing that he's leaving home. Nevertheless, once a Bear always a Bear! Still plan on making a few games this year!

player's championship results from the tpc stadium course sawgrass in jacksonville florida:

max homa: tied for 6th at 8 under in a wild day that included hitting the flagstick on the fly on the 307 yard par 4 12th hole before dunking it in the water on the par 3 island green 17th hole (but no worries, max gets boxes of free golf balls)

colin morikawa: tied for 13th at 7 under par in a promising final round that wuz derailed after hooking a 3 wood off the tee into a triple bogey unplayable lie on the par 4 10th hole...putting is still an adventure

byeong hun an: tied for 35th at 4 under par including a 100 foot chip in for eagle on the par 5 16th hole...benny an drove back home to orlando (plays out of lake nona) after the round wondering why this song don't got no berkeley references?

cal's monster offensive line spring ball update:

check out the playclip above in the right hand corner (best viewed with the screen enlarged) from saturday's #2 spring practice in the rain with #21 byron cardwell running with high end quickness & vision...quarterback #5 sam jackson v got great knee bend (which is a common characteristic of +1 athletes) but a really skinny yoga torso (continued s&c/nutrition weight gains are gonna be necessary this summer in order to take violent hits this fall)

left tackle #63 brayden rohme is clearly holding the left shoulder pad of the jersey of the defense's top apex predator edge defender (xavier carlton is out for spring ball) #33 myles jernigan who got the potential upside of being an all pac 12 playah during the 2023 season this fall...yeah this play is gonna be flagged backwards for a 10 yard penalty

right tackle #72 tj session is engaged with a defensive end in close quarters & may also be holding...ay caramba

center #60 brian driscoll is knocking the **** out of a defender & blocking him to the right away from the left gap hole, yeah the monster helped brian move his attitude from la jolla to national city this offseason

coach bloesch is being careful in the recovery from multiple injuries to the undisputed leader of the o-line room matthew cindric who is not cleared for full team drills so true freshman #68 trent ramsey is taking advantage of this devo rep & aggressively blocking #89 ethan saunders who is on his toes & standing too upright back to the hayward fault line

can't tell whose the right guard (probably not poly bad azz sioape vatikani) but there's a white left hand clearly holding the shoulder pad of the defender, that's no bueno

#42 nate ruchena has lost leverage/misdiagnosed on this play & #2 craig woodson looks like he's filling out his march madness brackets & is late in reading/reacting to the action

#13 miles williams is in position to make the tackle downfield, this fall is his opportunity to put it all together on the field

all pac 12 wideout #3 jeremiah hunter is doing a great job of jumping up & down in excitement instead of blocking someone

it's just one play (but the monster is watching)#

2023 california golden bears recruiting update:

ryan silver is the head coach of the west coast elite aau team (sponsored by under armor), both of the current cal commits shooting guard 6'6" rodney brown & post 6'11" devin curtis play for ryan

connecting the monster dots (relationships matter)#
the california golden bears basketball program is not a total rebuild project, there is a strong nucleus core foundation of young talent with 3 years of remaining eligibility in 6'8" 220 lbs bouncy forward grant newell, raw but high upside rim protector 6'9" 235 lbs nd okafor and smooth sharpshooter 6'7" 215 lbs jalen celestine

plus innate scorer 6'3" 200 lbs devin askew played out of position last season at point guard when his skillset is much better suited to the 2 & fiery irishman (and onetime arizona recruit) 6'7" 230 lbs sammy alajiki is gonna reach his upside playing for a crazy azz head coach that celebrates his intensity (and not try to muffle it), yeah a player's coach

but the bears will still need an infusion of talent

the key to the 2023/2024 season will be in the hands of point guard 6'4" 180 lbs ajay mitchell...the reality is that steve kerr could coach next year's team & it would still lose 20+ games unless an elite point guard arrives in berkeley...and you would have to be a 100% dumb azz to think there's someone out there that another new coach could recruit to berkeley in the next couple of months that is even half the player of ajay

today's elite college basketball teams are point guard driven

what's lost in the made up coaching lists that consist primarily of knowlton hinge hooks up of old white men (despite the fact that 90%+ of the primary playing rotations of nationally ranked teams are black student athletes) is that the incoming recruiting class of 6'6" rodney brown & 6'10 devin curtis will be at risk if joe pasternack is not hired per the tweet above from their aau coach ryan silver

not gonna list the made up weights for devin & rodney, both guys are built like 3 irons & gotta start the weight/strength maturation with 100% commitment upon their arrival in berkeley for cal's summer bridge

rodney is a lanky player with length & a pure shooting stroke, he is a better 3 point shooter than anybody on the current roster & will make an immediate impact for a team that wuz scoring challenged this past season because of both poor outdated schemes & also half the roster with uncorrected broken down crooked azz shooting mechanics

successful head coaches (don't hire the oldest staff in the nation at 200+ years tho the con artist extended him anyways) hire assistant coaches than can recruit and facilitate player development which includes shooting mechanics...when i spoke to joe during the cal's monster class era about the head coach job he tole me that he is friends with both theo robertson (experience includes development coach for the golden state warriors & the los angeles lakers) & sir richard midgley (currently a nba scout), both guys can 100% teach shooting the ball (they are among the highest % 3 point shooters in the history of cal basketball) along with selling berkeley academics to players & their families particularly moms...pasternack is also close to fellow mutt of mixed descent lou richie who would an ideal life/academics coach for the program & also assist with his high school network of coaches in facilitating the recruitment of bounce back former nor cal prospects that didn't wanna play for the last 2 bears head coaches

brown is not just a set & shoot perimeter shooter, he got hops too...the cal player comparison for rodney is alan crabbe, an elite shooter who developed the rest of his game including defensive intensity during his time in berkeley before making tens of millions of dollars in the nba

devin is a lanky quick twitch athlete with length, he kinda reminds me of type of body type favored by criminal dana altman...it's been painful half watching the bears on tv during the last 6 years with unathletic bigs that move like granite statues on valium with hands of stone, brown is a major upgrade in terms of athleticism...the cal player comparison for devin is artist/renaissance man rod benson

high energy joe pasternack will sign ajay mitchell out of the transfer portal, solidify the commitments of rodney brown & devin curtis along with solidifying the concerns of the current returning players that there will be a paradigm shift in berkeley to a monster player program

**** the statistics and the logistics along with all the worthless opinions

wut bad azz bear in the o-line room is making the biggest move after 3 practices?

that would be trent ramsey who is running with the 1s right now with matthew cindric & bastian swinney being held out of team drills

spoke with trent & his family on the field during the stanford big game celebration, he is a likable & intense young man that assured me he wuz gonna put on good weight during the fall conditioning & move up the depth chart...his dad tole me his ideal playing weight is 310 lbs...ramsey is beating the statistics for a guy with only 4 kinda disjointed fingers
