question:Why does she (Markeisha Everett) still got a 11 person communications team, can the coaches of these non revenue sports not write their own gameday reports which would allow this department to be rightsized to a couple of employees like her peer institutions that don't have Big 10 financed affluence?
answer: Our athletic communications staff has a myriad of duties in addition to writing game recaps and their work helps ensure our coaches can focus on our student-athletes.
LOL the additional duties include
- 2 hour lunches - attending 2-3 short zoom meetings where zero value is produced - sitting in their offices twiddling their thumbs
Since we have such a huge comms team & "visionary" marketing, I assume we must be reaching out to disaffected Oakland sports fans, young alumni, youth in the bay area/berkeley, pop warner / youth basketball teams, and current students...? right? I presume our comms are top notch and we are filling our stadiums, right?
a national championship trophy hoisted at the epicenter of civil rights, animal advocacy & intellectual capitalism, this is the monster's mad dog dream for the #1 ranked public university in the world
the university of berkeley valley golden bears/wolverines#
But it looks like neither of those is going to happen. Woodbury didn't get a waiver for another year. We likely don't have the NIL money for Aziz and there are real questions if a roster with both he and the big maple works.

My WAG:
If Madsen can't get the guy he wants/needs, he will sit tight. Often nice to have a scholly in your back pocket
We've seen mucho examples of wasted hoops scholarships over the past 8 years.

As long as the guy you fill the slot with has just one year of eligibility, then it makes no sense to leave the scholarship open.
3.8 gpa 2024 commit tyler knape & future leader of cal's monster offensive line gonna visit the bay area this summer, yeah it's kinda different weather than steamy azz texas but trench workers are primarily focused on the work that needs to be done to dig to the next destination in their development without any candy azz soft excuses
4.0 gpa 2024 6'5" 280 lbs david abajian is gonna be tripping to berkeley also on june 8-11th too & as cal's monster offensive line works with coach bloesch & future head coach in waiting mike saffell to get these smart as **** high gpa trench workers put together as roommates at the #1 ranked public university in the world
But it looks like neither of those is going to happen. Woodbury didn't get a waiver for another year. We likely don't have the NIL money for Aziz and there are real questions if a roster with both he and the big maple works.
tequila, the appeal of the appeal needs to happen with trey, none of the current combo elite shooting guards are true facilitators/distributors like woodbury
if the cal basketball program is gonna compete for a national championship it needs to put both aziz & big maple on the floor at the same time...if either one of them gotta problem with how that works (potentially going 29-3 instead of 3-29) then ***** that ****, nobody is gonna make a dollar in the ruthless billion dollar corporate nba that demands unselfish team ball...reality is that fardaws projects as a 4 (that can slide at times to the 5 in certain matchups), he will put up more moneyball 3 pointers with aziz patrolling the paint for rebounds/point blank buckets
if neither of these is gonna happen, the monster is gonna be watching cal basketball on tv again with a game or two sprinkled in

excuses r for losers (let's ******* go)#
I know Greg and Sebasta are trying to downplay hope for Aziz for a variety of reasons. And maybe that's coming from the coaching staff.
But from a purely basketball perspective, I agree with you. You can absolutely play these two next to each other, and obviously they provide injury insurance for each other. You can stagger their minutes so they play together about 15 minutes and then ensure at least one is on the floor at all times while limiting their total minutes to around 27-28, which will be beneficial to them and the team. We would have a chance to be VERY good.
gmp, 100% agree that both aziz & fardaws can both be on the floor at the same time, my take is that they could both play 35+ minutes (except in blowout victories) per game in developing their skillsets for the positionless nba which places a premium on post players that can consistently knock down 3 pointers (other than the plantar fasciitis the biggest factor in young ivee not having a long nba career wuz his inability to shoot from the perimeter)
check out fardaws clean pure stoke from distance, nba scouts wanna seem him do this on a more consistent basis on gamedays & also build up his body to withstand the injuries that have curtailed his productivity in the past...aimaq's best basketball is all in front of him in berkeley, his early arrival in a couple of weeks tells you all you need to know about his 100% commitment to the program & the revitalized fanbase
Big emphasis with @FardawsAimaq on playing off the dribble on the pop / short roll situations & being able to hit the shot from the nail. Daws has progressed every year & this is something new we are adding to his game! pic.twitter.com/3OFcYR9ihF
and yeah nba scouts consider aziz to be a unicorn +2 athlete but it he wanna be a nba lottery pick, he's gotta do this **** more often on gamedays...knocking down 3 pointers from further afar in the electrical haas airspace will earn our favorite young man from senegal $100,000,000+ in the nba
gmp, this is not the ******* 1950s anymore with white guys playing set positions with strictly defined roles with highly structured playing responsibilities
get trey & aziz to berkeley & this **** is getting live
indisputable top 3 punter in the 2024 class 4.72 gpa kaynon floyd from horizon high school has been extended an actionable offer by asu special teams coach charlie ragle, this means that with his other actionable offers that a preferred walk on offer from cal most likely won't work in securing his signature
coach tinker is hopefully working around the clock to build a relationship with floyd, he got only 3 specialists positions to actively recruit...kicker with michael luckhurst is good to go for the next 3 years & long snapper with david bird is good to go for the next 4 years, identifying an all american punter should be his daily #1 priority in the offseason
but shocky don't trust coach wilcox & his staff with special team decisions, the bears got outkicked on field goals in both the south bend & boulder losses which contributed to the team's losing record last season...the criminally insane decision to start the low trajectory with limited length dario longhetto is gonna be the answer to the following california golden bears trivia question in 20 years from now "name the bear that started in 2022 instead of 10 time nfl all pro placekicker michael luckhurst?"
and going into the transfer portal every season is a 100% surefire strategy to bring in a good but not great punter, this program needs standouts with its razor thin win margins
i've played golf a dozen+ times with former nfl kickers/punters that live/visit north scottsdale, they all love golf because of the similarities of the 2 sports...the golf swing is a lot like the kicking motion, the more technically sound it is the more repeatable/reliable it is during competition
the average nfl hang time is 4.4, floyd is already kicking at that level...last season he averaged 50+ yards on punts which ranked him 3rd among high schoolers in the nation
so when kanyon floyd returns (family attended the stanford big game & also cal's 2024 junior day) to berkeley on saturday june 4th, justin & marshall need to bring in a former nfl kicker like ryan longwell (who is already helping the program), doug brien, bryan anger, etc. to evaluate his kicking upside...is he truly a generational talent with all american potential for 4 years (4.72 gpa guy is gonna earn a haas biz ad degree) with nfl draft day upside & therefore an actionable cal offer is warranted?
yeah elite punting can change the field position multiple times in a game
Practice today, worked out with the ASU long snappers Hang times:
congrats to cal poly transfer walk on thomas lee from dougherty high school in san ramon, he is the only collegiate football player in the nation of north korean descent
thomas is not a dumb azz, he wuz majoring at slo in kinesiology which is kinda more challenging than cosmetology but we're not here to judge, this is a monster safe zone
it's great that former bear & nfl kicker ryan longwell is helping coach tinker, the special teams unit cannot afford to mess up the recruitment of elite 2024 prospect kaynon floyd

coastie, spot on, the reality is that markeisha & her revenue development staff of ian mckinnon & vasileios iliopoulous are absolutely derelict in their duties, they are operating in one of the most affluent regions on planet earth that has seen 3 professional sports franchises/organizations pull out of the marketplace, yet they can't find a way to sell more tixs???
not offering FREE tickets to all students for football & basketball games is marketing malpractice
important recruiting announcement re: aziz bandaogo & trey woodbury
one of the many sensational attributes of our unappreciated highly skilled athletic director who is a proven dealmaker with undeniable savvy deal making instincts (as opposed to a piece of **** bureaucrat who has ******* up everything he's done while earning an annual salary of $1,300,000+) is knowlton's remarkable ability to get deals put together
our highly respected by his peers & the ncca athletic director serves on multiple boards including the ncca basketball selection committee, the ncca basketball rules making committee & the college football playoffs committee...so knowlton is gonna have no problem with his deep inside relationships within the ncca to get trey woodbury's 6th year medical waiver approved with a couple of well placed phone calls...this is a done deal
knowlton also got outstanding relationships with all the major donors who appreciate his trusted longtime visionary support of cal basketball & football...since jim personally raised the $80,000,000 to $100,000,000 from major donors for the world class basketball only practice facility which will break ground in the very near future, it's only gonna take a 10 second phone call to one of the lead donors asking for permission from them to redirect $1,000,000 of those already collected funds to be redirected to a $1,000,000 nil payment for aziz bandaogo...this is a done deal
the fact that knowlton seems to playing dodge ball with all requests for transparent interviews is an inaccurate character assassination by the monster who focuses only on the past non funding of the revenue sports, the insane hiring of numerous worthless bureaucrats within the athletic department who got zero ties to berkeley, the extensions of coaches like fox & charmin who are among the worst in the nation, the growing collection of costly lawsuits against the athletic department and the abject failure to sell tixs despite 3 of the local sports franchises exiting the bay area marketplace along with stubborn refusal to allow students to attend games for FREE
the fact that the current athletic director & his trusted #2 right arm jeniffer simon-o'neil (who is not the evil as **** enabler she's painted to be in the mckeever suicidal women's swimmers scandal) are being investigated by assistant vice chancellor dan mogulof at the direction of departing chancellor christ is just a fake narrative brought forward by those with an agenda
from this point forward shocky is never gonna refer again to knowlton as the con artist but more importantly aziz bandaogo & trey woodbury r done deals to berkeley...bet
make no mistake about it, james arthur knowlton got the best interests of cal basketball & football at heart, he's driving this car until his contract expires in 2029 towards unimaginable championships
there is absolutely nothing negative that can be said about knowlton other than than the well known fact within the department that he hates berkeley, that's why he rents (despite his $1,300,000+ salary) & gets out of town at every opportunity
after the final payday is cashed (which could be sooner than later with the current chancellor investigation) knowlton is never (unless he is hopefully brought up on criminal charges & incarcerated) gonna visit the state of california ever again, he is so tired of this hippie hellhole
6'4" 278 lbs 2024 hard working offensive tackle samir camacho from cypress halls high school (20 minutes outta houston) is gonna take an official visit to berkeley on june 15-18th, it's possible his current offer could become an actionable offer in the near future
camacho wuz a 6a 1st team all district honoree as a junior, he's poised for an explosive senior season
samir is not a dumb azz, he got a 5.4 gpa...coach bloesch & coach saffell want trench workers that are smart as ****, they not gonna sit down & do ur homework for u, ok?
reality is that tyler knape & david abajian are looking for roommates/50 year friendships, do you snore loudly samir?
shocky's current plan is to again attend every cal football home & road game in 2023, do u got ur season tixs???
1st look at the opening game on september 2nd against north texas in denton, the green meanies led the nation last year in unnecessary violence penalties, bears better be ready for a bunch of angry cowboys in a hostile further afar venue...and yeah it's also gonna be hot/humid/nasty too, gotta luv texas weather
sports r fun, playing a kid's game with those that u truly love is special
thx to rush the field for sharing, mad dog 100% gets it...people won't remember u in 10 years from now but they will remember the way u made them feel...yeah shocky is a substitute yoga teacher teaching the thursday nite 10:30 pm t-rex flow class at modern yoga, sign up now as space is kinda limited to a curvy brunette yoga female

"11. Cal: The Bay Area Black Hole dominates the bottom tier of our projections, with the Bears having a slightly better outlook than their rival. We expect solid defense in Berkeley, a trademark of the Justin Wilcox era. And while TCU transfer Sam Jackson is the frontrunner at quarterback, he's merely the best of mediocre options as the program installs a new, modernized playbook under first-year coordinator Jake Spavital. No position is more tenuous than the offensive line, which was a turnstile last season and appears to have limited upside in 2023. For all his gifts, tailback Jaydn Ott cannot run through a wall of defenders. Previous: 10"

I'm afraid it's mostly accurate. Most of the Pac would not trade their position group situations with our groups.

hollywood, all 5 of these undergrads should've accepted their back up/scout team roles (tho ironically chris street would've started the 2023 spring game as a running back if he had stayed the course) & continued working towards their berkeley degrees
none of these 5 players were ever gonna be key players on the football field but that's not the metric we should be using in measuring the adverse impact of these life changing decisions
their schollys are gone forever, already granted to new players
would love to see chris & aiden return to campus this summer as non playing full time students with student loans & complete their berkeley degrees thereby ensuring much brighter futures

When a student at Cal is that close to getting their degree... seems like a shame. They could always grad transfer the year after and take a last shot at fulfilling their football dreams.
funny tommy christakos story: decide after modern yoga one day to go play golf, so got my clubs in my car & head to the closest course which is talking stick (public facility with a casino & 36 holes designed by my idol bill coore)
get to the 1st tee late in the afternoon & get paired up with 3 beer drinking asu students who like to talk **** so this is gonna be fun, right?...while they ride in carts like lazy azz alky losers i walk & carry my clubs while hydrating with ice cold green bottled perriers & ask them friendly questions like "why do you guys ride in carts, do you also park in the handicapped zone in the parking lot?"
shocky is a real charmer
so after a couple holes into our round they notice shocks got a cal golf team headcover & the bears logo etched on his super light black mackenzie leather walking bag...they tell me they got a friend on the cal football team
this is a loose transcript of that conversation:
shocky: so whose your buddy on the cal football team?
3 asu guys: our bro tommy christakos, we all went to chaparral high school together, we talk to him almost every day
shocky: so why don't tommy put on some serious weight & be a pass catching threat tight end?...if he ever wanna get paid in the nfl that's the only way that's every gonna happen, he's never gonna run a 4.3 40 like nfl wide receivers
3 asu guys: he don't like getting hit that much
shocky: hmmmm...that's too bad, does tommy ever tell you how much hotter girls are in tempe vs berkeley?
3 asu guys (with big smiles): yeah, every time we talk!!!
tommy christakos did not participate in 2023 spring ball after taking a medical retirement, he wuz born under scorpio skies too & gonna do great things in life upon the upcoming completion of his berkeley degree like owning a string of strip clubs staffed by asu grads or something
I regret that tc was not able to make a few "alley oop" TD catches in key Cal games to legitimize his "Top Shelf" nickname. Sounds like he'll be finishing his degree at Cal though... and that spells "winner" to me.
