that would be when senior everett johnson got inserted into the game in the red zone at the cal fan end of the field...after he made a critical physical block to help facilitate jaydn ott's touchdown scamper, he did the happy dance with tj session that wuz PURE UNADULTERATED HAPPINESS
look, one of the reasons the most negative bears on this board are that way is because they don't actually go to the games in person & unfortunately television don't show those truly special moments of brotherhood that brightly illuminate the magic of cal football
everett tole me on the field that when coach bloesch inserted him into a heavy run package that he wuz ready for that moment in the big game
when I introduced myself to johnson & tole him ima shocky & that sometimes he kinda look like big foot, everett surprised me by picking me up & giving me a bear hug (this week has been a very good week for hugs for the monster)

jalen celestine & devin askew: ok not great on d but got major upside when they become 100% healthy
monty bowser: lou richie's dragon got bounce but not much help on off ball defensive help
nd okafor: still reaching with his hands & fouling, the principal of verticality is gonna be his friend when he figures out how to play dominant d in the paint
jalen cone: gets bullied by opposing pgs on d & for such a talented athlete closes out shockingly slow on 3 pointers
fardaws aimaq: lacks lateral footspeed, gets burned multiple times every game by his opponent attacking the rim for uncontested buckets

they have a coach who was a rebounding machine and good defensive player (and especially was a key in team defense). It will take some time for the team defense to come together with all the new guys. Especially a problem with Cone and another starter being defensive liabilities. I don't have a lot of reason to defend Mater Dei Football, but 3 Heismans doesn't suck. The only thing bad about Mater Dei football is the top end guys have traditionally gone to $C, but Cal has done well with the rest.Shocky1 said:
