the correct play is for arguably the most accurate driver of the golf ball on planet earth is to pound driver down the left side of 18th hole which is protected by only 1 fairway bunker & whispy rough leaving around 200 yards to the green, his current strategy of hitting a fairway wood on this hole leaves 260+ yards into a significantly domed green that repels both left & right bounced in wood shots
where would morikawa be on the leaderboard if he had made better choices & made a par both times on the 18th hole??

9:15 am-renegotiate the one side terrible deal with learfield that expires after the next athletic season, the reason the dollars involved in the dialpad patch sponsorship (shocky got the number but has been asked not to share this information) is not being disclosed is because those dollars are NOT going to the athletic department...when jay & jenny said "this is a historic moment for cal athletics" that's just more bull**** from deceptive bureaucrats
Was asked to comment so I'm popping in to the Monster Thread (Shocky, I'd tell you I'd visit your thread more if there was more Cal and less golf, but I suspect that would be like telling Steph Curry not to dribble so much. Who I am to make such observations and you probably wouldn't care regardless).
So what you wrote above has the interesting feature of being (mostly) true and wholly misleading. Let's set the record straight.
Yes, the DialPad money is not going to the athletics department. But what you're missing is that's a GOOD THING. In fact your BFF's Jay and Jenny strongly fought for the money to fund their bloated bureaucracy and I threw everything I had into opposing that outcome. Why? Because we didn't want the money going to athletics and not even football and MBB. What we wanted was the money going directly to the STUDENT-ATHLETES in football and MBB. And that's exactly what we got. This allows it to count as ABOVE THE CAP spending which is more precious than gold and diamonds and equally hard to find. It's an outside 3rd party using the NIL of our student-athletes (they are the ones wearing the patches after all) so the money can go STRAIGHT TO THEM. Just as God intended.
So no, this isn't a bad thing. It's a great thing. And regardless, it has absolutely nothing to do with why this hasn't all been publicly disclosed. That's just wrong. It hasn't been disclosed yet because DialPad wants the focus to be on the partnership and not dollars. Cal badly actually wants to talk about the money but they are deferring to their partner. Amount will eventually will come out but all I'll say for now is that it's a chunky number and one that is meaningful and also is the largest corporate sponsorship in the history of Cal athletics. Good stuff. And we have to sincerely thank the loyal and proud Cal alums who run DialPad for taking this leap and helping us all out. They are awesome.
