this rivalry we have with UCLA is really beginning to feel 1 sided.fat_slice said:

This sucks on multiple levels - this guy was all Cal and trying to recruit for us. So what changed? Well for starters, he de-committed soon after the UCLA/USC move to B1G. I. Sure that weighed quite a bit - not knowing the future of your program. Add on to that the lackluster start we have and there was no reason for him to stay.
I really hope we kick their a** in Berkeley this year but I feel that they are going to kick ours and walk out with our 2 4* recruits and laugh their way into the B1G. TypiCal ending for Cal and Wilcox will again take all of this like a good whipping boy and say we need to play better, coach better, and recruit better. The only way all that happens is with a new staff and AD.
Why would a safety care who our running back is?kal kommie said:
Like everyone else, at this moment I'm inclined to interpret this in the worst possible light for the current staff but...maybe this also has something to do with us having a megastar true freshman RB who figures to start ahead of any HS RB in the country.
Oh whoops, I got him mixed up with someone else. Carry on with the entirely justifiable hating on this staff.75bear said:Why would a safety care who our running back is?kal kommie said:

Outside of the WSU game, what part of Cal's "start" should have been different, especially from the defensive side of the ball? If anything, Notre Dame has gone on to show that the Cal effort against them, covering the spread, having a real chance to win, was an accomplishment.fat_slice said:

If offensive guys are looking at Musgrave and saying "meh" I get it...but the other reasons I can buy into, as a collective argument...

Anyone see the latest UCLA promo and match it up to ours? Ours - library, learning, serious, dark. Theirs - not a single shot of learning going on, it's all celebration, brightness, movement, kids having fun. You think they did that by accident? Wonder what they had to do to get that pop rag to vote them #1 Uni?Rushinbear said:Excitement, entertainment, proven hc, bright lights, stuff that impresses 18yo's.mbBear said:Outside of the WSU game, what part of Cal's "start" should have been different, especially from the defensive side of the ball? Cal's alumni give more. Just check the budgets.CALiforniALUM said:
Money talks. UCLA has the B1G money and we don't. I would venture to guess that UCLA's Alumni give more to sports than Cal Alumni. They laugh at us for renovating our stadium while they just rent out the stadium we wish to be in January.

UCLA had 45 million in Athletic Department revenue last year. Cal had 93 million.
That is why UCLA has to move to the Big 10.
