One other note about Wilcox. Why does he always struggle in October? I don't understand this, if you look at his win/loss records per month, October stands out as being particularly bad.
I understand September being unusually high due to the gimme's at the beginning of the year, but November is substantially better than October.

Everything is off with Musgrave. Trick play when power is working, pass when run is working, and run when pass is working. Goes for it on fourth when we should take points. Punts when we should go for it. NEVER uses TE. Never throws the slant or seam or screen when unexpected. Doesn't get Ott wide on pitches. It's just really bad and it underutilizes some really good talent.
I like Wilcox but it has gotten extremely tiresome how 95% of our games are an absolute rock fight for large portions of the game regardless of the opponent. Just one time I would love to see us come out and be up 21-0 after the first quarter and just cruise from there.

Just the way we line up on offense makes me sick to my stomach and that's before the snap.

The entire UC ecosystem is way to comfortable losing, which is a fireable offense since football is so closely tied to finances. And for them to act like it's not is also a fireable offense.Arcadiabear said:

But the University isn't going to fire Christ because they like Cal losing imo.

Couldn't agree more. Tired of playing "lesser" or struggling programs and just not having what it takes to start fast and control the game throughout. Losing/playing competitive games vs teams like Nevada, Sac St, UC-Davis, UNLV is pathetic. Now we're down at half to an 0-5 program in disarray. Totally unacceptable.

We are so horribly predictable and inept that we will be IRRELEVANT for years to come.
This game is the Poster Child for why a top-rated reccruit will not come to CAL.
The landscape has gotten even more competitive given conference power and NIL money.
And we've been going in reverse for years with Wilcox.

To be fair, the Arizona game was that rare game where we were able to maintain a two-possession lead and feel good for most of the game.YYCBear said:

Too bad we couldn't scoop that for a score. That may have been our best chance for a td.
Wish he would have tried to pick it up. Defensive TD might be our only chance.

They brought pressure and they should continue to do that.
Agreed, I would have much rather had the linebacker gone for the scoop and score rather than the Dline just fall on the ball. But, I don't fault him for doing that, that is what they are coached.Grrrrah76 said:
