Hate to say this, but, thank goodness that this game is on a channel that few people watch and in the same time slot as three or four other good games.

Coach Smith was smart enough to hire Coach M, as his OL coach. He had some strong OL's at Cal. He did Inherit some unbelievable talent, but the kids were fundamentally sound. Smith is smart and understands ORGST., their culture and needs. He has done a great job.

That game was over quickly.

21-0 and there are 12 minutes left in the half.

It's definitely the part I'm most interested in, since it is the most free ranging and likely to show what's going on in his heart and head these days. Just about everything he does is good, I'm not worried about that part lol.

After 2013 Dykes knew Buh was not going to work out, when does Wilcox realize the same with his staff?

He also has 25 OL on the roster. Brings on lots of big kids as PWOs and gets them in a strength training program and sees what happens. Some guys end up on the DL.

He is an offensive minded coach with a better defense than Wilcox has, all while doing worse in the recruiting rankings.

Where's the run blitz?

The offensive line is 4*?

Ok let's talk about this realistically

Let's say football wins 3 games and basketball gets to 6 wins (seems about right at the moment), would that be enough to get her to consider firing knowlton?

I feel like we would need multiple seasons of that kind of ineptitude for knowlton to get fired. And if that happened, no one (not even sebastabear) is going to be around to see that happen.

They also have the best defense in the conference.

If youve watched the Beavs this year, this was the game to bet the ranch. Not vs SC.

Turning into a bodybag game for the Beavs.

I can guarantee folks Angus is not coming back in the capacity of the OL coach and Musgrave will retire or go away. Wilcox really needs to upgrade this coaching staff. He needs star coaches on the staff to turn around this abyss of season. The only coaches that should really come back are Toler at WR, Sirmon as LB coach and one of the CB coaches.

Cal needs way more team speed. This team is soft and slow. It's rather embarrassing.

Forget about the rankings for a minute and look at the games.

Does the Beavers' QB end up either on the ground or running for his life every time there's more than two seconds between the snap and the pass? Nope. Their line is far better, because of recruiting. They recruited more linemen and have better depth, and they recruited better linemen no matter what the recruiting "gurus" claim. They recruited two QBs who are at least average in the conference, instead of having to grab a transfer/leftover from a below-average Big Ten team.

There's no amount of coaching that can overcome a multitude of recruiting whiffs.

If we want to be a plodding team on the ground with heavy run sets, that is fine, develop the lineman to do that, but we can't even block 3-4 man rushes.
