Tom Lemming rated the Top 50 recruiting classes for 2023. Cal was NOT on the list.
The top 10 in the Country wee;

1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Texas
4. Ohio State
5. Oklahoma
6. LSU
7.Miami
8. Notre Dame
9, Tennessee
10. Oregon

Here is how he rates the Pac 12:

1. Oregon (#10 in the Nation)
2. USC (#11)
3. Utah (#22)
4. Washington (#28)
5. Colorado (#31)
6. UCLA (#34)
7. Arizona (#39)
8. Stanford (#46)

Cal, Oregon State, Washington State, and ASU did not make Mr. Lemming's Top 50.

I question Stanford at 46. Lemming includes Brandt and some other players that switched as going to Stanford.

Great to see all the momentum Wilcox is generating.

Mountain West don't need no stinkin' stars.

We don't really need recruits considering that Knowlton's goal is to run the program into the ground with zero accountability from Christ. So…stars don't matter.

we need a ranking of where we fit in the G5.

Yes, you would hope that momentum would be generated by year 7, but last year Knowlton extended Wilcox out 5 more years so we just have to hope. That said, our transfer class was good, and increasingly that will be more important than high school classes. I am more optimistic going into this season than any since his first, but it needs to happen NOW.

I don't know Calumnus. I think we had to win last year. That was the year to at least increase our profile amidst all the realignment talk. Most likely that is all done before the season starts and we have a very bad reputation.

With the extension, Wilcox has no incentive to make things better now as you say.

The best time to start saving or working out is always last year, or better the year before, or even better the year before that…. I sound the alarm every year and agree, it may be too late, but we need to win NOW to have a chance.

We are lumped in with all the "state" schools. Great company.

Apparently Oregon St. does fine without making these lists so why can't we? Of course they have a good HC, so there's that. I'm guessing they also have an administration and an athletic director that pays attention to coaching quality. It's just a guess though.

They bring in tons of OL who are notoriously difficult to rate out of HS and develop them into great lines.
