My son is starting his graduate program at UCLA in Chemistry. I will adopt UCLA as my new school. *****Cal and it's incompetent administrators. I regret attending Cal. I should have chosen UCLA.
BearinOC WEAK. No pride. No strength. No backbone.
Soft. As. Baby. Poop.
Toughen up your thinking BearinOC. Be more like Cal . . . less like the weak bear who just posted what BearinOC posted.
Over 30 years of watching Cal (people in trees throwing feces, losing Snyder, losing basketball, softball, volleyball, unable to build dorms, hillltop people filing injunctions, etc.) has me very pessimistic about Cal's future. Have we become this bad from #1 in the Pac to the last 4 that no one wants? Acc and Big10 may take Stanford accoding to the last article I read leaving Cal in the company of OSU and WSU.
You too, will feel this way after being disappointed at every turn. We are the Bad New Bears, the movie.
I will stop as I dont want to be more of a Debbie Downer.
"[P]eople in tree throwing feces..." LOL
Welp, for better or worse, we can't take the Berkeley out of Cal.
Bay Area progressives are really the scum of the earth. Hypocrites that claim their care about equality and social welfare but will stop at nothing to selfishly preserve their personal wealth. If only there was a way to funnel all the homeless into NIMBY communities and let them deal with the consequences of their own actions
Here's a slap in the face by those people.

maybe we'll break ground on the new dorms in after 70 years. smh
UC needs to grow a spine and hire a top litigation boutique.
Cal Strong would have the area cleared and bulldozed in his first 12 hours as Chancellor.
I will vote for Cal Strong if there were the case.
It not hard to do. Just need strong leadership.
Firing the current leadership seems impossible and I have no idea what our hiring process is like but we better not keep hiring the same kind of leaders. This seems to be the biggest hurdle we face. Change can happen quickly with the right people.
Firing the AD is relatively easy. If the Chancellor really wants to do so, it not hard.
Firing the chancellor next to impossible. Not for this mickey mouse stuff. As much as we all care about sports and fixing the People's Park issue, it a small speck in the balance of what a chancellor does.
---------------------------
But whether or not the Chancellor is replaced (which will not happen), the chancellor can stop playing by their rules. Move in at 3AM. Have the homeless removed and double-column of locked armed security with riot shields in place by 3:05. A large temporary fence fully installed by 3:10AM. Bulldozers arrive at 3:11AM. The whole thing bulldozed by 5:45AM. Hire construction contractors who worked for US in Iraq. They know how to operate in a war zone like this.
It doesn't need to be perfect by 5:45AM. We just need to destroy the current park to the extent that homeless can't sleep there and there and so there is no flora or fauna to fight about anymore. No notice given to the city or anyone else. Security and construction will be paid three times their normal rates, plus full indemnification. Anyone who interferes is thrown in campus lockup for hours to await questioning.
Of course we would get sued. But we are already getting sued every five minutes. So big whoop. And sure, we will probably have to pay damages here and there. But the problem is solved. It is not like a judge can order us to replace piss bottles. They are gone. We can reimburse each homeless person $350 for whatever is destroyed. No big deal.
So then the question is -- do you want a dorm, or a militarized construction zone? Because Peoples Park doesn't exist anymore.
