You could clearly hear on TV the PA telling both teams to remain on the field after that play (never even heard that before!), which would seem to indicate that they had time to review it and then decided time had expired. WTH is going on?

Isn't there a statute of limitations? They held the players on the field to review the play then signaled half time. It is like reviewing a play after the game is over.

It's not simple. Cal played a 61 minute game against OSU. There is no review and come back after the fact.

After the end of the half, the half is over. This is precedent setting.

USC can eat a fat bag of dicks for missing the FG, BTW.

A rule that has never been used isn't complaining.

It raises questions, like, why does the USC kicker get to warm up at the start of the half if the previous half isn't over? The fact that they missed is irrelevant to how the rulebook works in this case.

And USC stayed on the field while Cal headed to the locker room. They couldn't let USC run a play without Cal on the field. It would be 7 for SC.
