Jared leads the Lions into LA today to meet the Chargers. The LATimes front sports page is all Jared. The upper half is a photo and the lower half verbiage, under the title "He's the driving force in Motor City". The caption for the photo is "There's No Doubt: Lions quarterback Jared Goff has led teams out of a fog before, having done it at California, and with the Rams, who reached Super Bowl LIII".
Jared Goff: “It’s a lot easier for someone to create a narrative of you than it is for you to break that narrative of yourself… But at some point you’re like, well, that’s not even close to the truth.” #Lions #RamsHouse https://t.co/irkAn2Zkoc

Time to see if Goff can engineer a game winning drive. Thus far, both he and Keenan Allen have had great games and showed out well.

Romo said "what huge stones" lol. I've see Dan Campbell like taking shots on critical short yardage situations. Musgrave used to do it too, but the shots he took seemed so low percentage that it wasn't worth it (like on 3rd and 2, throw a deep fade).Cal88 said:JG dropping an absolute dime to Brock Wright for the score!#DETvsLAC |📺 CBS pic.twitter.com/uu4wfVqliw

gutsy call on 3rd an 1 with the game on the line, perfect execution
It was Jared vs. Keenen.bearister said:
Since Raiders left, wherever Jared plays is my adopted team. Jared is playing vs my 2nd favorite QB today. I hope that they both throw for 500 yards but that Lions win…..however if Chargers need the win to make playoffs, and Lions don't, I can live with Chargers winning, provided Goff has a good game.

The quality of QBs in the NFL, with Brady having retired and Rodgers being out, is currently the lowest I've seen since I started following the game in the 1980s.
Look for Nix, Penix and Williams and other QBs from the upcoming draft to start on NFL teams next season.

Allen, Mahomes and Burrow are having mediocre statistical years but it wouid be foolish to assume they won't be there at the end.
C.J. Stroud is the NFL story of the year

Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees. How many of the current players are at their level?

Williams just makes insanely good throws, and he also makes time with his feet, because he is not behind a great line. He has benefited from excellent WRs. NFL teams will want him to be in better control of his emotions, but he is smart and physically has the tools. Still has a higher ceiling. He would be my first pick.MinotStateBeav said:
People need to recognize that a lot of these top picks for QB have 2 things. Elite Offensive lines and elite WR corps. These are things they won't have in the NFL. Will Penix be able to deliver when his protection breaks down in the NFL and the throwing window is tiny to non-existent? Same with USC's head case of a QB. Goff never had either. To me neither of these 1st round projected QBs should be day 1 NFL starters if the teams drafting were smart. Hard to tell from Penix's time in Indiana as he got a serious injury. That's why I think QB is such a difficult position to draft especially when drafting from Blue Blood Unis, I think it's a weakness as their deficiencies get covered up by the talent around them. Nix will always have the "short QB" stigma.
I agree about Mahomes and I think Burrows if he stays healthy also will be a guy who makes some lists. Maybe as the NFL football changes Hurts, but I tend to doubt it as he ages those hits add-up. That is all I got for the present QBs. .Anarchistbear said:Cal88 said:Anarchistbear said:Cal88 said:Quote:
