Best of luck to him……but my question is why transfer He already used his one undergrad transfer. Will he be eligible to play the 24 season.

Assuming he left Cal academically eligible, he can play in 2024

He is going to be enrolled at Auburn immediately for Spring so even if he took all Incompletes in his one semester at Cal, I'd think he'd be able to be eligible by next Fall,

Not at all how that works.

If he took all incompletes and did not complete those incompletes with satisfactory grades (6 credits with the grade required by his major to be eligible; 9 credits to not have the 4 game penalty), he would be ineligible next fall regardless what he does this spring at Auburn.

Yes, you are correct, he needs 9 units.

Really, doesn't Jackson just need a good lawyer to threaten some kind of "restraint of trade" suit against the NCAA? They've caved on everything else, why not this "academic" requirement?

Someone will file that kind of lawsuit eventually. They can point out that every year there are thousands of athletes competing in NCAA events who leave school without a degree. Thus, the argument goes, the true purpose of the academic progress requirement is restraint of trade and not concern for student achievement.

Individual players will be able to sell advertising on their uniforms as long as 10% of the laundry surface is reasonably close to the designated "team" color.

Well, as you said, 9 if he doesn't want to have to sit out 4 games (a third of the season). You were right, I am agreeing with you.
